More expensive than a regular 2DS but hopefully this UK/EU exclusive holds it's value.
Great for any collectors.

The Nintendo 2DS Special Edition: Pokémon Blue Version includes a Nintendo 2DS system in transparent blue and a pre-installed Virtual Console version of Pokémon Blue Version. This console bundle also includes a FREE Blue Nintendo 2DS Case.

Sure to trigger warm feelings of nostalgia, the Nintendo 2DS Special Edition bundles also feature classic packaging reminiscent of the original Game Boy game, a sheet of 15 stickers that can be used to customise the Nintendo 2DS system, and a download code for a HOME Menu theme

Theres N3DS editions of these too right??
Ordered the yellow one yesterday with the pikachu case. I think I spent in the hundreds of hours playing Pokemon yellow as a kid. Thought it was neat and I like that the yellow one is more see-through than the other two.

3ds version is North America only, I think. We got the set of three 2ds's.
Are the 3DSXL ones not coming out here?

Don't mind the special editions (Pokemon/Zelda/Nes) not too fussed about others.
Can see them holding their value though; although I haven't been able to find out how many are for sale or if they're limited.

Went for one of each.

Red has been around for a while and so has blue; Shame they don't just sell the boxes.

I would of been tempted by the green but no release outside of Japan. The pikachu case looked cool!
They're £74.95 on coolshop, though I would say this is better considering you can get the calendar and case for £5 more. Heat added!

Looks like it's just two detachable faceplates?
A lot of the Americans on Reddit seem to be annoyed they're not getting the 2DS'

Looks pretty good, quidco is 5% so have ordered there.
No interest in the Calendar and case, would have given them away anyway.
Yellow one is very cool but I already have a 3ds, so would be no point buying this

There are Red & Blue cover plates for the New 3DS coming, yes.
Just see the 2DS as a clumsy, retro looking, inflexible and badly made unit this was only produced to please the health & safety brigade. The calendar is nice though!
You can also use Promo Code: MARIOCALENDER1 / ZELDACALENDER1 / CROSSINGCALENDER1 for an extra free poster!

Pretty sure you might have to pay over £90 to get the other one but it happened when I brought all 3 so I'm not sure.
I haven't had a Nintendo Handheld since the Gameboy Advance SP, Do you think It be worth getting one for the original Pokemon feels?

I found the 2DS to be very much like the original Gameboy Advance (in terms of feel and looks). If you like Pokémon it's worth it, and might be worth getting the newer 3DS games, which will work on the 2DS.

Honestly if you're only after one to play the old pokemon games you should probably just get an old gameboy or get the rom on your phone/tablet.

Definitely!

There is a MASSIVE catalogue of amazing games to play, including older games for the original DS that still work on 2DS/3DS.
Are there going to be physical releases of the games?

Your dislike for the 2DS has become evident over the last few 2DS posts.

That's a shame. Also the 2ds' don't seem to have any pokemon image on them, just the plastic is a different colour? Bit underwhelmed to be honest

Hi I tried sending you a private message but you have it disabled. Here it is -
Hi. I was also interested to see if I could find the Green version I found a company called N2G (Nin-Nin-Game) that use Amazon France to distribute within Europe. So there's no chance of any import fees The price for Green is £88.73 and total shipping for my postcode is £18.94.

*Japan version so the game will be in Japanese. The console is region locked to JP eShop and will only play JP games*
Hope this helps

Is it worth holding out to see if these are cheaper elsewhere like Amazon? Tempted to buy all 3 so going to cost a fair bit. Also any ideas how limited these are?
Already have a 2DS so not for me but love the idea. Would've gone blue to match what version I went with back in the day. Heat added

FYI - 2ds/3ds are totally region locked so you will be stuck with a japanese/chinese 2ds with access to the japanese store only.

Thanks for that! Would of been tempted but the region lock makes it a no go for me. Appreciate you taking the time to let me know.

Not sure why no pm - they have worked previously so will have a look (thanks for pointing that out too!)
As an avid collector i have to laugh at those thinking these are an investment.
1. They wont come sealed, collectors only want sealed items. Nintendo stopped sealing collector consoles a while ago. True collectors also only want red seal strips such as those found pre 2007z
2. The 2ds console is a generic console with no imprints or transfers to set them apart. They are essentially a 2ds with a nice box, this will not make prices rise to an avid collector.
3. For £240, the price of all 3- you are half way to buying a sealed pokemon yellow blue or red for the original gameboy, things that will actually increase in value ten fold.
I hate to be that guy but unless you are a collector or fan, dont be that guy on ebay selling pre orders for these for £130 a piece because they will dip in a few months. The only thing of value is the box but any true collector willing to pay money already has the original boxes mint or sealed and would have pre ordered these.

In short- ultimately these are no different than the 3ds xl bundles with x and y that game is selling off for £99 in the sale. Not a sound investment as its a contemporary spin on an old franchise. If they included physical copies it would be a different story. The fact that they are 2ds' with pre installed software really contributes to the matter.
Jco japanese are far less collectable. Pal are the most sought after nintendo items. Pal au to be correct.
