Got a 2ds with Mario Kart 7 for £76 on Amazon the other day. It's gone up to £85 now. Think some Tamodachi Life version is still £76 on Amazon if anyone knows if the game is any good?

Still this seems to be a good price for the Pokemon version. Heat.

Slightly better than other places so heat. The Moon/Sun 2ds is pretty cool looking imho. Also slightly better than rrp is the Nintendo 2DS Blue Yo-Kai Watch Bundle at Argos if you into Yo-kai Watch instead @£79.99

Tesco selling 2ds bundles for £76

The RRP is £99.99 of 2DSes but being the 2DS that still looks overpriced. Pay a bit more for a New 3DS instead, it's comfy, closes up and the quality of the screens are far better.

Plus, it has 3D vision but who cares about that by now.

Santa brought my son a 2DS a couple of years ago precisely because it doesn't close up. He has additional needs, and the extra robustness means that it has lasted a lot longer than the hinge on his previous DS did...

Well, for kids the 2DS is perfect. It can fall as many times and still work.

I wanted to get one at Argos as I have quite a lot of Nectar points built up. I live in Exeter and there is no stock around - even checked the Bristol, Plymouth, and Cornwall areas. Do you think that Argos will get more stock in before Christmas now? Thank you.

oh, the halcyon days of the Nintendo DS and it's all-too-fragile hinge mechanism. kids these days don't know what they've missed out on. jumpers for goalposts.

I have a 2DS and much prefer it over the clamshell design of the old DS's. I dont have the biggest hands yet I get bad handcramp on both DS and 3DS models; I have no hands turning into cramped claws issues with the 2DS. Mine is for around the house so fold up and fit it into my pocket isn't a priority for me. Highly recommend a 2DS.

its only 1 per customer

There r ways round it.

Thanks. Ordered 1 of each

Agreed. Tried a new 3ds xl but returned it for my old 2ds, feels sturdier and more comfortable. Im happy with 2d games, and the screen is a lot sharper.

you also get a badge with it brough this for my little mid last month very quick delivery too get points for buying with them put towards getting a game etc

Thanks so much for this, it's oos at Tesco and Asda and even Argos have no stock near me!

OOS now

All gone rip

OOS. Managed to grab the sun version before they all sold out, thanks OP

This is a lot of money for such a clumsy, badly designed and inferior unit when compared to the 3DS XL and even the 3DS. There is just no value in buying this.

As mentioned previously it's down to the individual. One person's clumsy is another's perfection.

The cost is high relative to the 3DS, but if it lasts twice as long, as the 2DS is a more robust machine, which one is better value?

How is it more robust? It doesn't even fold? How many people have you heard of with a broken 3DS or 3DS XL? My niece and nephew had their 3DS's for years. My kid has had a 1st gen 3DS XL for 2yrs now and no issues.

There really is no reason to buy a 2DS. Hideous and unpractical flat screen angles and impractical and uncomfortable controller playing. Never mind the relative high price, it just looks hideous and is bad all round. Is credit to Nintendo and their marketing that they can sell such rubbish.

Kids have the broken the hinges on the entire DS range for years it's easily the most common fault

2DS is a good bit cheaper than the 3ds range at the moment pokemon alone costs £35 puts the hardware at about 50 quid

I really don't believe it is common, is always the cheapo 2DS buyers that say this, bit of a myth really. The 3DS is a well made and very "robust" unit, if your breaking it your doing well.

Its not a myth its one of the reasons Nintendo designed the 2DS

I've never broken a ds but the 3DS is far from robust it wouldn't take much force for a kid to snap one in half

The 2DS is aimed at the kids market easy gift to get for a kid without spending 150 quid on a new 3ds then having to buy pokemon separately

Is like saying a CRT television set is better as more sturdy than a newer style TV. Mental. Barking mad. I honestly would not pay £20 for a 2DS. I would not pay £20 for a brand new CRT TV either.

my son has had his 2ds for 4 years and its survived well !! 3ds games were said to be bad for little kids eyes....... also the 2ds is retro and retro is back.! gameboy anyone ?

Between my wife and my two kids, they've had several Nintendo devices from the DS range. At least three of the hinged ones have broken, two of them at the hinge. My son has additional needs, as I mentioned in an earlier comment, and has broken many electrical gadgets, and his 2ds is coping well with him. Therefore i think the 2ds is more robust.

So please don't refer to people as "cheapo 2ds buyers" as the only ones saying it. Cos we have bought both on basis of the intended user.

Personally I prefer Sony portable games system anyway.

I have three children, all of which have had a couple of 3DS in their time. My eldest is 11 and stopped playing with his when he was about 8. He's now asked for a new one for Pokemon Sun. Since I don't see this to last all that long, I've been a "cheapo" and bought him the 2DS version, mainly because I'm a student teacher and I'm living within my means. I also bought a 2DS for my youngest son as he only wants it for Pokemon and his 3DS has started to cut out after 3 years.

People shouldn't be judged for what they buy, each has their own reasons for it.

Is nothing to do about the price or budgets. That should be secondary, and is only an explanation as to how Nintendo manage to sell any of these.

Is simply just a poor and inferior unit IMO. Of course it is like telling people from Blackpool, that their tower is not as good as the Eiffel Tower.

OOS sadly
