Nintendo 3DS £112.60 @ PC World and Currys with price promise

After Nintendo dropped their price today various retailers have followed suit. Tesco's are selling the console for £115 but PC World and Currys will beat any price within 30miles by 10%. That brings the price down to £103.50. If you go to a branch that can't find any Tesco's with stock within 30miles you can always get them to match Morrisons who are selling at £120 bringing the price to £108

If you can wait I believe you can buy via one of the cashback sites for around the same price as the currys/ PC world deal.

Price promise details:currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

It's also £115 at amazon also but only the blue 3DS. You'll get double clubcard points at Tesco too, not sure how much that'll work out to but I'm guessing it's £2.30 worth of vouchers.

Not correct. It's 10% of the difference so:

£139: Currys
£115: Tesco

Difference of £24

10% of the difference: £2.40

Final cost: £112.60

I love the way people read other peoples posts and then take what's been said in them to make a new deal.

Also, here's their terms:

In the unlikely event that you find a cheaper price, for the same product and offer, we'll not only match the price but also beat it by 10% of the difference. Our price promise even applies up to 7 days after purchase.

Single unit purchases only. The competitor must be a retail store within 30 miles and have stock ready for delivery.

meaning they'd match the £115 price & beat it by 10% making it £103.50

Greencode is correct - key word is "difference" and not the purchase price.

Nope! "10% of the difference". My calculations are correct ;-)

Can someone explain why this site still has problems with unexpired deals being tagged expired? Can one troll just click expired whenever they feel like and trick people.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake though! I got it confused with ASDAs deal, no one pointed this out on the other threads either. Still cheaper than Tescos

Lots of people have pointed it out.
Have you even read the threads?
Check out the morrisons and Tesco deal threads. It's all over the place.

Nope - Tescos was offering the 3DS on Tesco Entertainment where you got over £11 cashback and over £3 in clubcard points.

Tesco Direct are selling at £115 now, you can use a £5 off voucher, get over £5 cashback and still get clubcard points... so PC World/Currys are still more expensive.

I work for currys and as indicated above the price promise is match plus 10% of DIFFERENCE
IE:£100 in currys, £90 in tesco, £10 difference equals £11 off the £100 making it £89.

The shops selling these at £115/£120 are selling at a loss (unless they pay less for them than currys do)the margins on these are waffer thin at best.
they do this to get you into store were you will purchase others products.
lets put it this way i would'nt set up a business selling any console at all
consumer demand for low prices and no profit !!!
would you?

Unless you are a wholesaler or actually buy for dsgi group, you are talking rubbish. Even Alan Sugar knows selling at a loss is bad business, and for that reason, you're fired.

Nah he's right they are selling the 3DS as a loss leader.
