Good price but there's a newer faster "New 3DS" coming out in the new year and you'll need it to play some of the latest games.

bargain but a bit too soon to buy it for Christmas, don't want to lose 3 months warranty :-(

Seemingly the newer 3DS will make this one obsolete as Nintendo are apparently to drop support for it.Expect lots of deals like this popping up in the next couple of months.

shame they didn't bring the new one out in time for Xmas then cos I've got 2 kids wanting one ... what to do?

its like the dsi to the ds, you will be able to play every new game on this 3ds, you just might need to use the analog stick addon accessory for some. All that has changed in the new 3ds is the speed of the operating system (it needed an upgrade as some things were just a tad bit slow), and nfc features (that will still have work arounds for the old 3ds), all it's doing is making some things easier. Everything else is exactly the same (screen resolution, wifi, sound chip etc).

Thankyou!

And a slightly better screen with better 3d display, but like I said; the resolution is exactly the same. Its not going to look much better than the old one.

Don't get me wrong, I'm getting the new one, just want to explain that the older version is not going to be redundant in any way.

The new 3ds will actually have a faster processor and select new games will only work on the new system. Xenoblade Chronicles will be the 1st game locked out to the old 3ds hardware here's a link:

New games made for the "New" 3DS won't play on the older versions.

You are utterly wrong, please do not post this false crap when you obviously do not have a clue. The processor in the new 3DS is faster and they are making new games that will NOT work on the current 3DS.

edit: though yes xenoblade is a big (ish, its not on the same level as other nintendo titles).

I'd imagine full retail price of the 3DS when it first came out is a good bet.

XL for me! Me 7yr old boys have 3DS XL's and when used next to a 'normal' screen, the XL is massive

This is a pretty good price! Am sure it will make mine harder to sell now though if I decide to, doh. Although at this price I'm tempted to get another haha.

Avoid ShopTo

my daughter is 5 so this will do just fine - thanks OP

Any reasons to avoid ShopTo? As product is OOS, I have PreOrder this product, Do you suggest i have to cancel the PreOrder?

The preOrder concent is good, becuased of below FAQ.

The price of my pre-order has changed, what happens now?

Sometimes between pre-ordering an item and its dispatch a product’s price can change. With our pre-orders we have a price guarantee should the price of an item increase after you’ve placed your pre-order with us. This means we will honour the original price and the price you pay will be listed in your pre-order list.

If we reduce a pre-order in price we will also automatically reduce the cost of your pre-order to this as well. Please note in the event of an obvious pricing error this would not apply and we will notify you of this via e-mail. Our decision on if to honour a price in these circumstances is final.

I wouldnt worry.

I ordered two ps vita's from them. One was sealed, the other was open and looked used. So i returned it stating it was not sealed on arrival. There wasnt any issue.

Only downside was it cost me £11 to post it back to them and i didnt get a refund of the postage. Ive used them a few times though and never had issues.

Great price for all the games it give access to. I think only gamers who are teenage or older might need consider if they will want the NEW 3DS for the extra nub stick and whatever games might be specially made for it - maybe more Wii game remakes if Xenoblade is anything to go by.

Personally, I can't imagine there will be many new games designed from the ground up for it considering the install base for NEW 3DS will always be dwarfed by that of the regular 3DS. So I would say expect low development cost games, ie, Wii (and perhaps GC) remakes and remasters... which might not be a bad thing.

Not released in EU until an undisclosed date in 2015

This deal isn't great when compared to the 3ds XL, I won't bother with this as the screen is smaller and battery length is shorter compared to the 3ds XL. Also considering the 'new' 3ds coming out next year this'll be a waste of junk not worth having.

Will wait for new 3ds at this stage

The fact that the new one is called 'New' 3DS suggests they will discontinue both this and the 3DS XL when the new ones launch. So expect deals although probably not much cheaper than this.

I expect a small % of new games will be New3DS only. The majority will still work fine on existing models. They sold so many of the current models that they are not going to alienate everybody by making every game incompatible.

It seems the new one uses eye tracking or something to improve the viewing angles of the 3D effect. That's one of my main bugbears with the current models so if you havent got one by now, personally I would wait for the new one, that sounds really good.

The 'New' 3DS system should probably only be for those who want to upgrade from an original 3DS to the 'New' XL 3DS. If the DSi is any indication there will likely be very few games released soley for the device. The DSi had only 4 games and only 2 of those got an EU release.

Basically get a 'New' 3DS if you:
- Are upgrading from original 3DS/2DS or a new comer to 3DS
- Want the additional controls/buttons for games that support it
- Want built in NFC
- Want a slightly faster system
- Are interested in 'New' 3DS exclusive games.
- Or buy it because you have the spare cash........

OOS

Cant even get to order it. Registered but hitting Paypal or Credit card button at checkout it keeps putting up popup to register mobile phone number. Enter mobile and then I get the text from them but replying yes as requested results in "Message not sent" error. Resend message fails. Tried two different mobile numbers with no luck. Even changed number to telephone and it still puts the mobile popup box up.

Can't get any further

Annoying as need to order one for a 8yr old who is not fussed about the 3ds XL so this would have been ideal - agghhhhh!

Pink is still in stock but I bet you wanted the black which is OOS

I'm not too keen on this version, it's too small and the screen size isn't very good either. I'd wait to see if the 3DS XL gets reduced.

Hey calm down, I was quoting from a website that obviously got it's facts wrong, I was only trying to help. Also the CPU speed increase is implied by what I said about the speed of the operating system.

but they announced a new 3ds last week.. great price! but by 2015 nintendo will abandon this?
