I know these have been cheaper but this is the lowest I've seen in the time I have been looking for one. They have silver or red.

Thanks for this! Any chance will be found cheaper before Xmas?

Maybe ... Tesco have it for £169 less a £20 voucher discount. Tesco and Amazon (according to my search of old posts on this site) have apparently had it for £119. Only just been informed I need to get one though lol

Tesco and Amazon had some sort of odd pricing competition a few months back - wishing I'd tried to get one now as I haven't really seen any good deals, and time is running out before Pokémon X and Y...maybe the Amazon Mario Kart is an option, if it's still on

best deal I've seen recently is the 169 including 3 games from amazon. expired apparently though. fantastic price here if you dont want the extra games.

Still looking for at least £130 because time you get a game it goes to £150+

just bought one for my son best price @ the moment

Tesco had it for £104 at one point .

it is unlikely to get that cheap now, and it's better to start playing. animal crossing is amazing!

BTW - Animal Crossing: New Leaf: Welcome a Friend Promotion!
If you register Animal Crossing: New Leaf with Club Nintendo before 22:59 (UK time) on 7th September, you’ll be able to receive a Recommendation Code which you can pass along to a friend. If your friend registers a Nintendo 3DS XL system between 23:01 (UK time) on 6th August and 22:59 (UK time) on 7th October 2013, and enters the Recommendation Code before 22:59 (UK time) on 7th October 2013, he/she will be eligible to claim a free Download Code for Animal Crossing: New Leaf on Nintendo 3DS!

The Facebook community should have some codes floating around. If not, I'm sure you'll find some people trying to flog them off on eBay.

I have a recommendation code going spare if anyone wants one. Only to someone that has bought a 3DS XL within that time frame though.

If you still have the code would it be possible to get it?
I just bought the Mario Kart deal from Amazon the other day.

On the web site is says A/C adapter not included sold separately a bit of a con.

Got this a couple of months back while tescos had it at £119- with voucher managed to get it for £109. It now goes everywhere with me. Unfortunately the wife doesn't approve of my ignoring her! Shame there isn't some sort of 3dsxl/ present-for-the-wife bundle! Still a bargain at this price!

I just bought a 3ds xl for my daughter, if there's anyone kind enough too give me a spare code I would very much appreciate it
Thanks

I would've hoped that we would be finally be over this but apparently not. While I'd prefer the charger to be included as a consumer, the charger isn't expensive and isn't worth ranting about.

Because of the PS Vita price cut which is now lower than the price of the 3DS XL (£169 stores sell it for), you can expect additional price drops for this.

Not necessarily (though as a consumer I naturally like lower prices).

Supply and demand are large factors in this too and demand for the 3DS is likely to grow through the end of the year. The new Pokemon is set to be a huge sales driver - even more so than Animal Crossing New Leaf was. There's also a chance that Nintendo might repeat the Animal Crossing and Monster Hunter referral code promotions at some point with Pokemon X/Y, which will again help drive console sales up without the need for a price drop.

I understand and agree with your point, but with the Vita being more future proof due to it's performance abilities the 3DS XL costing more seems weird to me. Maybe this as a constant price, but £169 forever? That's the only reason i haven't bought the 3DS yet, but i will soon.

You will find a very healthy software variety once you eventually pick one up.

Monster Hunter, Animal Crossing, and Project X Zone has absolutely dominated my travel gaming time such that I have no desire to continue my previous Kairosoft addictions on my smartphone. Have pumped in over 200 hours collectively in the last couple of months on those games and I've had to stop myself from playing too much so that I don't neglect the missus.

Just got one of these, best price at the mo....thanks! Now if anyone would be kind enough to send me a free Animal Crossing code that'd be lovely
Edited by: "uka100" 24th Aug 2013

Yeah I just bought this too! I would literally send karma to anyone with a free animal crossing code!

Absolute rubbish it should be included, it's like me buying a car and then having to go and buy some wheels before i can drive it. Just glad that i use an R4 card and download the games then.

Hardly a fair comparison. Still isn't worth ranting about though.

I have been looking to upgrade.. I have AC:NL all ready, so I could get the codes out of the XL and get another free game, and sell it for £25 on E-bay so I'd pretty much would be getting the console for £115.. I might do this.

Anyone know how long this will be on for? I get an 8% Curry's discount through my work but it takes a few days to top up the reloadable card. Saves an extra tenner though!

Sorry to burst your bubble but you're unlikely to get £25 for ACNL on e-bay thanks to the number of referral codes going round. I think I remember seeing that the selling price for a code was just under a tenner.

Not a bad idea though to reduce the overall cost of the machine
Edited by: "jsty3105" 25th Aug 2013

bought one for £119 from blockbuster online (which looked like a used model!) and then traded in at blockbuster to buy another for 149. blockbuster took virtually everything, unlike cex who are very fussy

anywa, this is a good deal, esp if u r not trading anything in

No, that is just for the recommendation code. I'd get the codes from the 3DS XL, and the AC:NL code and get a full game download code. The recommendation code needs a 3DS XL club nintendo code too.

still current - just bought one

Nintendo 2ds out in October , should be cheaper

Picked up one today. Where would I find one of these Animal Crossing referral codes? Seem to be charging quite a bit on eBay....!

Nintendo 2ds out in October , should be cheaper

From IGN - "The 2DS will be available for $129.99 on October 12th (the same day as Pokemon X and Y)" - even though that's USD we're talking about there's 0% chance of the 3DS XL hitting £109 again in the near future. Especially with the new Pokemon coming out soon.

Can someone post the firmware version that the 3ds xl was on that they bought from currys ?

The one I got was 6.2.0, so no gateway...if that's what you're after.

I've been holding out to get a 3DS XL, hoping to get it for £120 before Pokémon X and Y are released. With the 2DS launching at £110 on the day X and Y are released, there's no way the 3DS XL will go down to £120 before then.
Then only way it could happen is if they realise the 2DS price is stupid and put its price down, allowing them more room to lower the 3DS and 3DS XL prices.
So now, after all my waiting, I'm left in a position where I'll just have to pick the 3DS XL up the next time it's down to this price of £140, if anyone had been doing the same as me and can still get this Currys deal then it would probably be a good idea.
