RRP getting voted hot? OK
My kids prefer this to their modern consoles.
Scalping is not nice.

Would you say selling something for profit is screwing someone over? …Would you say selling something for profit is screwing someone over? Genuine question BTW, not trolling.

Thanks for asking (and clarifying).

No I wouldn't in itself, but that's not what we're talking about.

Buying something and denying someone else the opportunity to do so at RRP knowing that you're only going to sell it on for profit is screwing someone over. You might never know their name, but that doesn't mean you aren't doing it.

As we are at the moment at least, it'd be difficult for companies to exist in the first place if they couldn't sell things for profit. However, the difference here is between that and people like ticket touts.

Is anyone going to defend ticket touts on here? No? Because that is almost literally the same thing as scalping SNES Mini Classics except for the product itself.

Still proud to say I had the opportunity and ended up deciding against it. Whatever else I might get up to, I didn't screw over my fellow wo/man on this occasion.

Got mine before Christmas and I've been really impressed by that Nintendo Quality. Everything just works exactly the way it should. The save game feature makes it even better than the original SNES. (Although not including Super Tennis was a big mistake.)

That's proper Mario Kart sorted for the next 20 years or so.
The nostalgia makes this very tempting...
surely this would get boring after 20mins?

I wasn't bored in the early 90s when I had the original and paying £40-£60 for games over 25 years ago you made sure you played them loads.

No. It's unbelievably addictive. The games are designed to be incredibly challenging rather than examples of 4k realism. Even the easy ones are quite hard by today's standards.

Re the screwing someone over! We’re in a capitalist economy. The bigwigs are doing this, so why get annoyed if the man in the street also has a stab? If someone wants to buy 100’s of something to make a buck and treat himself, great! That bloke’s taken a financial risk and provided a market service....same with ticket touts....as much as I hate them, they’re a symptom of a screwed up, money dominated society, we’ve gotta live with it, move on...

Think you misread what I wrote lol. If you bought two when they came out, you could of sold one for double, therefore yours would have been free. Loads of people made huge profits from these as they were in such high demand
want this

I wouldn't say it's screwing someone over, sounds like there's a lot of sense of entitlement in that kind of thinking. Screwing someone over is much more serious than a toy IMHO.
They're a very convenient emulator with a minimum of fuss. I got it when stock stabilised at Tesco the other week, and my seven year old and I have had equal amounts of fun since then.

With your "dog eat dog world" mentality, all you do is lose the right to ever complain when you ever get stitched up.

The world is what we make it. You shrugging your shoulders won't ever change anything and will just leave the doors open for things to get worse.

(Oh and what a wonderful "service" scalpers have provided by selling 100 SNES Minis on ebay at twice the price! You're having a giraffe mate. Capitalism's dream customer!)
Same price on Nintendo uk store
incase Amazon go out of stock ...
they also do the genuine power supply too for an extra £10 as the mini consoles do not come with one . But genetic ones work as well as a high powered USB via tv
I inadvertently became a scalper when I preordered one of these. I’d recently discovered the joys of emulations (and 8bitdo controllers) so I decided I didn’t need the snes mini as well. I could’ve returned it for rrp but I saw them going for around £120 on eBay so I did the same. Should I feel bad about it?

No shoulder shrugging here, I just simply won’t partake in the gouging / scalping and instead do a little work to get what I want! Plan in advance and you get what you want (also, stockinformer is superb!) ...as for ticket touts, I’ll pay a small premium or I won’t go! There’s too much other crap happening on the planet to get worked up about others making a quick buck due to supply and demand! Simply reduce your demand and move on, enjoying the less materialistic things in life :-)

"we’ve gotta live with it"

Shoulder shrugging if I ever saw it.

And I've just tried to find the logical fallacy which says that you can only ever give attention to the most important thing happening in the world at once. I couldn't, but I'll edit the post if I come across it any time soon

Got mine for £40 because it had 1 controller missing and the HDMI cable missing, so I called Amazon and told them, and they discounted it to that price for me.
Hi guys, does this console support 4k output?
Yes it does, looks even better with HDR.

Nintendo announced last week that it will be future proof for the next gen gen TV's as it will be getting a software update for checkerboard 8K output.
Not saying it's cheaper, just a heads up... CEX have snes and nes units in for £80 so if you're willing to wait a little bit, im sure cex will start selling at least the snes cheaper then RRP as there stock saturates the market.
