Genuine question, what makes this better than the Pi apart from the looks …Genuine question, what makes this better than the Pi apart from the looks and nostalgia it brings, and the better UI? I want one desperately but I feel like I'd be throwing money away when I've the Pi and knock of snes controllers already.inb4 piracy

Im guessing the ability to use it straight out the box not everyone is technically minded to do the PI thing. Its nostalgia for me i spent hours playing the original with my dad as a kid. He is no longer around so brings back great memories.
Got mine free

Before anyone rushes in with silly questions, it was a present

Purchased this on Amazon 2 months ago for £69:99p.Cant believe people paid over 200 pound for these, when it was in short supply.Should have been at least another 30 games on these.Luckily you can do it yourself.Dont believe the hype, they are not that great.
Have seen it on Amazon cheaper than £69

Not just that but the games and especially the controllers are miles more responsive. I’ve got a pi running retro pi and an 8 bit do controller. Could do any special moves on street fighter. On this I’m pulling them all off like my old SNES. Also you can hack it to add more games.

got my xbox 1x for £320

Plenty of people got the PS4 pro for £2
Don't you just hate it, when the
"I got it for £x amount" crew come out

You got it at a great price, good for you, who really cares? Did u want a pat on the back perhaps?
What's the point of making others feel bad when they may have over paid by a little?

Once hacked

Nothing beats the Classic Mini. Those knock-off controllers can not compete with the feel of the proper Nintendo pads. Also, emulation can get a bit sketchy sometimes, certainly the sound can have a scratchiness and stuttering sometimes. It’s just not the same as the original experience, which is what Nintendo have managed to offer.

get one, you won’t look back!
(plus it’s dead easy to juice up with more ROMs)

How does your brag help anyone in this forum in any way shape or form. If you know if it being cheaper, then post a deal.

Completely agree with this. Pointless comments to make people feel bad and them feel good!
Anyone know, where the best place is to get the roms?

The 8bitdo controllers are very good.

The mini classic is a great little package which you can just play, but I don't consider it anymore special then using Higan.

It’s 2017, if you don’t know this by now... also, make sure you delete them within 24 hours, law and all that.

Well I've run emulators on my PC and tablet, but this is the best experience. Yes it looks great, has a good UI, savestates are also simple to manage. The default emulator isn't that great (you get glitches with some European roms) but you can install retroarch and use SNES 9x. I wasn't sure when I got mine if I was wasting my money, but I've had a blast playing 8/16bit Sega/Nintendo games, some of which I played at the time, some of which are new discoveries like the Japanese only market Bomberman titles.

Have you tried googling 'roms' There's an emu' paradise I quite like as they have a good range and the site isn't overloaded with ads, but they don't have everything. Luckily there's another place if you love roms which has anything they don't.

How?

A little bit of blagging, and got returns and refunds on the bundled games..... must admit, it was pure luck

hakchi 2 + retroarch solves that. It does feel a little wrong playing Sega games on Nintendo hardware though...

The original controllers and the lack of input lag, plus ease of use.
The SNES pads are far better than the Xbox 360 buttons for similar types of games and emulation. Ive already beaten a lot of my high scores in Mame and 8 bit emulators, that I revisit every few years
an extra pad is not always something retro gamers bother with so nice having that as a bonus. again ease of use with 2 players, this is a box you can leave anywhere for anyone to pick up and play
