It's not a surprise, really, is it?

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.
They initially offered them at £79.99 but jacked the price up in a couple of hours. Pretty shady really. I got an order in at the lower price though, but I might cancel as I also managed to get an order in at Nintendo.

Disgusting that retailers are trying to get in on the 'scalper' market.
I wish Nintendo were allowed to set prices in the EU and then this would stop this from happening.

If they were allowed to do that the rrp would be massively inflated and Nintendo would become the scalpers.
Looks like Smyths have pre-order open for collection again at £79.99 or at least for the stores near me.

And it wouldn't make an difference, the clue is 'recommended retail price". If they decided to sell it @£200 theres nothing wrong. Don't want to pay £200, don't buy.

It's normal for the Grainger Games website to take a completely rediculous amount of time to load each page

No one likes things priced over rrp but it's simple supply and demand and you really can't blame the retailers too much for this since it's their job to make as much profit as possible with the goods they have. One could say if Nintendo made sure there were plenty to go around then pricing over rrp wouldn't work as people could always buy elsewhere, which isn't possible when no where has it like the NES Mini and Nintendo would actually make much more money into the bargain as demand is massive for these things....

Just to point out; some retailers could well be paying more to secure stock through grey market wholesalers, as the official channel will no doubt be on strict allocation.

Nintendo can set the RRP in other countries
it's $80 how can it be £85!!

The rrp is £69.99, just lots of retailers trying it on, luckily I got mine from Nintendo
lol at grainger games - this isn't going to help their reputation at all - still pick one up if you need one and couldn't get from game, smyths, amazon or nintendo as they will get more expensive

even if grainger are taking the mick a bit
Grainger do have a reputation, but I bet they wish they didn't ha ha
the site gives me HTTP Error 503 at the moment and its down. they also say they have already sold their future stock and any order might not be able to be fulfilled.

I got one abroad for cash on delivery just to be safe and will keep trying nintendo and amazon
Wow, the least grainger games could do is wear a comedy robbers outfit for this robbery. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/bc/fc/4f/bcfc4f8d461a68ae434398e953529a5b--bank-robber-costume-halloween-costumes.jpg
thats their boss off to the bank with his ill gotten gains. Nice to see their website is knackered.

How many do Grainger have? 100? 200? Is it really worth damaging your reputation for the sake of making another £500 or so?
Appears to be out of stock.

they all are at it, and lets face it, a lot of these games shops already have a pretty poor reputation, yet people still use them.
I got a pre order in with the Amazon on the pre order run at £79.99. They later did a second pre order at £69.99. So when it ships will they charge me the lower price, or the price it was at the time of my pre order? It is listed in my outstanding orders as £79.99. Anyway if anyone could advise that would be awesome. Ps good luck to everyone in securing their pre orders

It was an additive comment reinforcing that RRP means nothing. You weren't directly involved except insofar as I thought your answer was somewhat lacking. HTH

you'll probably have to chase up customer services to get one - they'll probably not do it across the board - up to you really and it won't be a guarantee either - but a lot of times badgering customer services will get what you want - it's just a hassle
£85 now?
Why are they charging £15 extra?
This is robbery.
I will never use these guys for anything, greedy scalpers. go f yourself Grainger games if you read this.
Just got one from Argos for £70. Interestingly the deal someone posted for that was deleted.
Perhaps we have a scalper moderator on the loose.

I'd of still bought one at £85. I was going to pre-order 2 from game so I can in effect get mine for free with the sale of the second one lol. But it was limited to 1 per person.
Robbery? Doubt it. Most retailers are selling it in Finland and rest of Scandinavia at £130 (150 euros) or higher.
You should be thankful!
