Nintendo Labo: VR Kit offers six new Toy-Con creations to build, including the Toy-Con VR Goggles, which combine with the other creations to allow players to interact with the virtual world through imaginative real-world actions. Fend off an alien invasion with the Toy-Con Blaster, visit a colorful in-game ocean and snap photos of the sea life with the Toy-Con Camera and so much more.

Nintendo Labo: VR Kit encourages passing around the Toy-Con creations among a group of people so everyone in the room can easily join in on the fun. To help encourage this social gameplay, players simply slip the Nintendo Switch console into the Toy-Con VR Goggles and hold it up to their eyes to explore numerous games and experiences – no head strap needed.

Friendly reminder, labo is not compatible with switch lite.
I'm waiting for Nintendo to do VR properly. I feel this is like a stepping stone in right direction, but hefty pricing. If really desperate to get into VR would be better looking at another brand of console perhaps. Heat for the discount though.

Don't forget Quidco or Topcashback.
Is this UK spec?

Switch lite has no gyro controls?

I think it's more to do with the smaller size of the screen and the non detachable controllers on the Lite version.

The headset is pretty impressive really for what it is

Agreed!
I understand it cant compete with higher end gear like Oculus Quest or Vive.. given its only an element.. requiring switch console however, idea of cardboard use was to give potential/future buyers a taste of VR world .. I would like to say at affordable price but then it varies from household to household. Plus, not everyone can afford to spend £300+.
Lots of positive feedback from you guys but personally.. I wouldnt spend that amount on cardboard.

It has gyro controls but the size of the switch lite and lack of detachable controllers make it incompatible (I think)
Takes a while to come, ordered on 21st, still waiting
Nice! Discounted fianlly
Couldn't get my kids to enjoy the build of the labo variety set... And the resulting games weren't deep enough for them to stick with... I am worried this will just be the same.

This isn't REALLY intended as a fully fledged VR headset though. It's a little like comparing the Labo Steering Wheel with a Logitech G29. It's meant to be something fun to build and play with. An awful lot of the enjoyment comes from the construction.

Incidentally I've struggled to find this in stock anywhere, so was very excited to see it discounted today! Thanks OP.

If you're desperate to get into VR you're still best off with a PC.

This isn't a VR solution, it's a fun toy to play with your kids on a wet weekend.

Am I right in thinking this is just laying obscene amounts of money for some cardboard ?

It is... but then lego is an obscene amount of money for plastic...
a painting can be an obscene amount of money for some paint on paper...
It's the enjoyment from building it and then using your creation, as mentioned above... it might not be high end vr, but if you have a switch it's the price of a game and a beer.
Rather than 4x the price of anything similar for the pc/ps4
Cant understand why anyone would waste money on cardboard cut to a shape its totally ridiculous. Chop a cardboard box open and print off a template off internet - personalised Labo done. We have a switch but nobody is interested in the Labo stuff.

I agree with @RockyPunch... 100%.
Its mainly down to personal choice.. interest .. preference.
Whether above item is best value for money in its category.. is open for discussion.
I wrote above that I wouldnt buy it.. but then.. id happily spend £120 on a fragrance i like.

That's just a bottle of smelly water though! 😋

too right!!!
Can anyone who has played this comment on the games?

Are any of the gimmicks fun?

As far as i know, Occulus doesn't have an elephant trunk adapter.

I'm assuming they are very shallow, but being Nintendo, very well executed?

4x the cost, 4x the quality of experience.
I understand that Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild have support.
MO: a small expansion tailored to the headset, and apparently BOTW just allows a playthrough.
Has anyone played these in third person, with VR?

I'll take a peek at YouTube for reviews of I get a chance.
Necrotix28/10/2019 20:58

Probably more like 10x the realism and detail... but i still think you could have just as much fun. Let's face these are aimed at everyone not just the serious gamers
Thanks for posting, we have added this to the Highlights page
Almost bought this for my son this summer as he’s wanted to start playing with VR for a while now. Very glad I employed man maths and decided to share the Oculus Quest with him instead. An amazing platform that doesn’t require a £1,000 gaming PC yet still had proper VR games! Yes it’s a lot more though there should be deals abuout on the build up to Christmas :-)

Oh, I'm so tempted to get a Quest.
Hi
Can anyone tell me if you need to buy certain games for this or are there any hidden items you need to use it ?

The set comes with a cartridge, so you just need a Nintendo Switch console (not compatible with a Switch Lite)
