But people who buy this want the simplicity of plugging and playing and they want to own/collect actual hardware from Nintendo - Raspberry Pi is awesome but not for everyone. I would snap this up if you’re thinking about it. I doubt it will be around long.

Well it is RRP...however I haven't seen it at this price in months! This will go mega hot!

Good to see the 'proper' price of £69.99 rather than £79.99.
Thanks @ChrisRX Great spot, it may be RRP but that's £10 less than most people are charging and still pretty hard to find
Heated! I'm looking forward to more stock this year for the Nintendo Classic Mini as i missed it last time round. Nintendo seem to be doing at least a bit better this time round.

How many times the price recommended by Nintendo UK is £69.99 - £79.99 . Hot Hot Hot
Glad Nintendo have manufactured enough of these, the NES mini was spoiled by scalpers. Proper pricing too of £69.99. Hot!

Although I do wish they would launch a SNES Mini digital version for the Switch, even if it was the same RRP as this!
Another boring snes post.. yawn....
Cold. Only $59 in us.
cex are selling used ones for £100. great find. heat added.
I'm still going to hold out for virtual console on switch, can't justify giving any more money to nintendo

got two of these... now for the NES Classic to return in stock!!!!

I got one of these for my 11 year old son for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. I was worried that he wouldn't get the whole retro gaming thing but I needn't have worried. He's been playing games like Terraria and Stardew Valley (that look like they're from the same era) for years. Some games have dated better than others - for example I thought Star Fox looked pretty horrible, but Super Metroid, Legend of Zelda, Streetfighter 2 and Mega Man still look great. There's also a suspend point system that allows you to save at any point anywhere. It's powered by USB so (in addition to HDMI) you'll need a spare USB port on your TV (thanks Toon_army) or a USB plug adapter to use it. Heat from me.

Any modern TV with USB will power it just fine

has to be hot, just a pity they will be sold out in no time and people will have to be fleeced by so called big retailers selling above rrp.good spot op.
Novelty soon wears off. Just like Gamestick, great idea and hot cake when it came out, then junk or £5 after a year or so. In a years time these would turn up in discount stores like B&M etc.

I have a Pi with retropie, Rey's 128gb image with basically every retro game on there in attract mode and yet I still prefer playing SNES games on the mini. Go figure. I just prefer the UI, the simplicity, speed, the easy save/restore points etc
Maybe I'm just a Nintendo fanboy

I think fruit pies are overrated, give me a toffee pie all day. Have you tried butterscotch? Mmmm sweet. Probably not as sticky as a toffee pie so perhaps the way to go. Not sure about a retro pie though, must be stale by now? Nothing worse than a crust which is too crusty.

I didn't think of that, I purchased it from the Nintendo Store before Christmas when it came with the adapter. I'll edit my original post.

Mario Brothers / Donkey Kong / MegaMan / PacMan / Contra / Double Dragon / Turtles
for under £15.00

Haha. Hmmmm mmmm that sweet sweet butterscotch! I just admit the HDMI cable does get a bit sticky when I plug it into the pie, but those graphics...

Good point! I’m not denying this is an awesome price, and having played on one of these, it’s really really cool. And simple like you say, plug in and away you go... heat added to it, I guess I like to tinker with things that’s all ha
As much as I love the mini consoles I hate them at the same time because they are a very clever move from Nintendo to make you buy these then at some point in the future release all these classic games on a virtual console on the switch.

It is the only reason I am holding back on buying a Snes mini

Having said that I am sure I saw a few months back they filed a trademark for N64 mini so...

Heat none the less!!!

I am hoping that Sega do indeed have a Dreamcast mini on the way, that would be simply awesome, i still have my DC but you have that fear that the CD drive will go soon so.

Yes but that is piracy. And does nothing but damage the industry.

I would be in absolute heaven if that ever happened. The finest gaming the world had ever seem was on that console. I have the snes mini and added ALL the Snes games to it. Hopefully we'll be able to do the same with the Dreamcast to if it's ever released!
Best £70 I've spent in ages, this. Barely touched it when I first got it at launch, then spent some time tinkering with it before Christmas, adding a load of classic games, and I've not touched the PS4 since. Secret Of Mana is eating my time.

Not if you buy the games for it. Downloading games is a no. But you can purchase games.
