mmhh I've not played a chess game since the old battle chess games, and yet I am tempted by this. The lock down has weird consequences
I've been looking at Chess the last few days.

Anyone know if this has a teaching section? For the kids

This gets good reviews (79 metacritic). I read the the Nintendo life review and it mentioned that there are tutorials for beginners. I'm tempted at this price.

“cross platform play with anything but Sony’s console“
Oh, this is tempting. Always wanted a portable chess game. Heat op.
Bought from South Africa, cheers mate
If anyone wants to play chess online for free, the most popular site at the moment is Lichess.

Yeah it's got tutorials:
From their marketing
- Step-by-step tutorials that teach you basic, intermediate, and advanced chess techniques.

I've played it a fair bit and the engine is quite good. My biggest complaint with the previous version is that you could replay entire games move by move if you follow the exact same sequence - the AI wouldn't deviate at all.

The game has a number of chess puzzles (mate in 2, 3, 4, and so on) and by and large they're decent apart from a few less-well designed ones (I hate those which add an unnecessary extra step where another piece comes in to block mate just by standing in the way).

The UI for the game is gorgeous but can also suffer from lack of clarity because digital chess is much harder to see then physical pieces. I very much preferred the 2D option from the previous version but it wasn't present in this game.

It's possible to play correspondence-style chess with set time limits (my favourite way to play online chess since I lack the time to devote to single games unless I've set the day aside for a tournament).
While playing chess, I've learnt that the CEO of Image and Form, Brjann, is an incredibly good chess player.
