If your feeling brave you could get another 25% off - buy vouchers from Zeek ( make sure to pay at least a small part on your credit card and if they do go bust you should be covered )
People are selling gift vouchers cheap as it looks like they could be liquidated later this week. Click & collect would probably be best.
Just an idea I’m pondering myself

Zeek Gift vouchers have to be used online and switch is out of stock for delivery so no longer works unfortunately

Probably is the cheapest, they need £9 mill by friday

Yeah reading the Zeek website it says:

These eGift cards can only be used at babiesrus.co.uk or toysrus.co.uk

The switch is click and collect which means you pay in store.
Bust by 2018 by the looks of it.

RIP Toys R Us
Anyone buying gift vouchers, especially for online orders, needs their head examined. No wonder they are 25% off. Toys r us could switch off their website immediately and suspended any sales going through it, meaning they are worthless.
not good enough.

Well you’re more likely to get it delivered than here...
I would avoid buying any vouchers for toysrus at the moment. Too risky with all the reports of them having financial problems.
last few days orders iv placed iv recieved within 2days..was surprised at the fast delivery..now i know why
Not worth buying anything from there now, wait a couple of weeks until they go into administration and have a closing down fire sale.
Funny how this site works, on the 13th of December before the better deals from Tesco. I post this hotukdeals.com/dea…585 £271 with points back the cheapest at the time. I get slaughtered. yet a deal that is £1 less from a company that is on the brink :-) but 2 weeks newer gets loads of Heat. anyway Heat from me
They only closing a few stores not all stores

Most likely, very sad though, as it is a great store IMO and a legend in its own right...

Classic HUKD logic.

That’s why I check deals of all heat varieties as sometimes someone starts the ball rolling with cold votes when it’s actually a good deal.

What makes you say that? The company is in serious danger of collapsing, just like BHS did (and Comet, Woolworths, etc did before). No store closures or anything have been announced yet (as they haven't entered administration) so I'm not sure why you'd think that they were only closing a few stores.

RIP Toys R Us

.. Soon to be called "Toys Were Us"
I'd have to agree about not risking gift cards. If they go into administration, gift cards get suspended. It's widely reported right now Toys r Us UK are stuggling from an imminent collapse.

It's also worth considering you have nowhere to return faulty goods if they close their doors and you suffer a fault. I'm not sure what Nintendo offer by way of warranty but your rights in regards to the contract of sale (Consumer Rights Act 2015) will be gone.

Originally they were only going to close certain stores in the UK but if they can't fund their pension scheme then they can't reach agreement then as you say they will shut completely in the UK unless the UK administrators can find a buyer. I do think staff should be consulted regarding the pension situation. The majority may decide to take less pension contributions rather than lose their jobs. I went into the Cardiff Toys R Us a week or so ago, what a dump, low stock and what looked like stairs to upstairs were blocked off, presumably everything they had was bought down to sell on the ground floor. I think I've done one small online order for games software from them in my life back in the Gamecube era I think and that's it. Found them expensive in recent years and the quality of their bikes was shocking. Made Argos bikes look like Pashleys. When I went into the store at Cribbs Causeway Bristol a few months back it was basically me and about 6 staff and I left with nothing which was difficult with no obvious exit unless you buy something. Just seems like the walmart of toys with many of very low quality. Never a fan to be honest.

It is a sad situation. My grandad used to take me every Saturday when I was a little lad and I do the same with my boy now, but I agree, it’s expensive, fairly drab and dated. I do hope it can survive though.

Actually I have noticed that the administrators recently are happy to keep the shops open for extended periods of time, using the publicity to get people to the shop. They give little discount at first (and people go crazy for it) and keep upping the discount until only crap is left. You are most likely to find the best deals just before administration.
I hope they don’t close for the sake of the staff, but I think this company has failed to be competitive for some time now. Another sad win for Amazon.

B*gger! ... just went to give you some heat on your post and I accidentally voted cold. Won't let me change it!
sorry
When every kid needs a console and a phone how could they survive, the markup on toys can be 50% easily but on phones etc probably 5%

Haha. Don’t worry about it mate. I’m not fussed. That post has long gone. I did think it was strange that’s all. Maybe it’s the power for marketing. Dropping the price below £270

Too late ... It’s their board that needs to get their act together and redirect some cash into the Pension Fund.... they all need arresting.... it’s another BHS like scandal.
