Low stock reported by retailers is achieved by not sending out to your distribution hubs on purpose and thus creating a shopping panic for the item you are selling and demand increases so the consumer wont even have second doubts in purchasing a old Gen console. I mean look at the ps4 pro and xbox 1 x. It's cheaper than the switch. The joy cons are terrible controllers and hard to use if playing Mario kart 2 player. They have manipulated discomfort for fashion.some may not agree but that's the way things are. Everyone has different opinions

Couldn't agree more. Nintendo are masters of this witholding stock tactic. ppl really have learned nothing from the days of the NES mini. Nintendo could fill the shelves with Switch consoles if they wanted to but they would rather ppl have to go out of their way and pay well over the odds for what is at the end of the day pretty old and weak hardware.

Nintendo really are the most anti-consumer company out there (at least in the gaming sector) wish ppl would wake up to it instead of endlessly throwing money at them and just encouraging such tactics to continue...

Desperately difficult to find stock of the new version at the moment. Nintendo re-stocking suppliers at the end of the month but obviously that's not helpful if you've got a birthday or whatever to buy for in the meantime.

Business account? Lol, whatever next?

Well it was only released in China last month, so theres plenty of life left in the hardware yet, probably goes some way to explaining lack of stock as they'd have been supporting the release there

Well actually I can

For all the claims of innovation, if you boil things down to their most basic the Switch is really only a handheld that just happens to be able to connect to a TV (well as long as you don't buy the lite). Nintendo has always enjoyed their biggest success in the handheld market and now with everyone else bowing out they are the winner by default there.

More just sticking to a market they know they have completely sewn up than true innovation IMHO...

But what about Ring Fit? I thought that was pretty innovative. Or am I just inexperienced?

I held out hope after the Wii, but given that I absolutely hated the Wii U... Never again.

And this is coming from someone who was an ardent SNES fanboy!
Hard to justify the Switch at this price when the XBox One X happens to be around the same price...

The Wii U has some decent games and the controller is quite an interesting idea for item management and such. But it was totally underused and became pointless outside Nintendo's own games. Plus the battery was garbage

But as the greatest Wii U games appear to be getting switch releases, Wii U should be buried to history. Just need mario 3D (possibly the greatest mario since 64) and Xenoblade X which are rumoured to be announced any moment

Nintendo tax is a thing annoyingly, but tbf Xbox and switch are totally different due to the portability, I never use it, but some do. For me Xbox is pointless as I have a PC, and even PS4 games are starting to flow on the PC.

Totally agree. Haven't had a console in 6 years and got no interest in ps4 or Xbox. Playing GTA5 on an old FX8350 chip with 1050i card and the graphics looks stunning.. so no need for me to get consoles ever again. But the switch tho.... hard to say if I want that or not as I got around 20,000 games on my laptop from snes, mega drive, Amiga cd32, N64, game cube and so many others and also handheld consoles too. Laptop is portable and with a great wireless gamepad.. do I need a switch? The games are better looking on a laotop compared to a switch most times and also can plug into a tv just like a switch ....

For me the switch is purely for the exclusive games. Nintendo exclusives don't hit PC and I do enjoy games like Zelda, Pokémon & Xenoblade. But if the game is on both switch and PC, I'll always take the PC version.

See, this is where Nintendo lose me. Their first party games just aren't a big enough draw.

I think the only standout games for me on the Wii U were Bayonetta 2 and Mario Kart 8. I didn't really care too much about the rest.

The Switch has some games that I do want. But I have very little intention of adding to my gaming backlog. And I also refuse to give the cancer that is Nintendo anymore of my money.

Exactly. Nintendo treat their fans like dirt. Pulling down all sites that has old games and any fan based games like a new Mario will end up getting the people sued.

Sega on the other hand.... they love all of that. Even released the fan based Sonic game as an official game and no issues at all about any of their games being emulated. To them it's about keeping the games alive... to Nintendo... it's about keeping the bank balance alive

Yeah... Even Valve gave that Black Mesa game their official blessing.

But to me... Nintendo are just all out greedy. They have very little concern with offering value for money. It's their mercenary attitude that is so off-putting. But at least Nintendo put out "quality" games.

Unlike rubbish CEX who charge a mint for battered old tat. Absolutely loath that company and what it's morphed into.

Lol totally agree about CEX. Not to bad to buy from on some old games lile ps2 or xbox 360 games, but selling games to them at a fair price.... Never gonna happen, and they still think that they can charge £280 for a scratched 2nd hand switch when you can get a new one in mint condition cheaper lol

Maybe if Sega had some of Nintendo's business sense then they would still be one of the main players now...
Sega have great IP but continue to either ignore or misuse it.

Which would explain why Sony have pretty much trumped Nintendo as far as sales are concerned for about a decade.

People don't just buy products. They buy a vision. It's called brand loyalty.

Nintendo haven't had a brand worth talking about unless you want to talk to those who suffer from arrested development.
