I love my switch but I'd rather buy another console than waste £60 on just a station
These should be £20 at absolute most.
I agree they should be cheaper, especially given the mass sales and production, but it is a bit more than plastic casing and a hub.

The PSU for instance is a Power Deliver + model which I am struggling to find any branded one cheaper than the official one at £20.

Likewise the USB hub is a video and charging hub which is more like a £30 item such as this amazon.co.uk/dp/…c=1

Add in the stand being worth £5 and it is sadly far closer to a realistic price than it looks (and hence this is actually a pretty good deal ).

Doesnt it come with this?

.... this is obviously a replacement or maybe a dock to have at a second home.

Doesnt it come with this?

It does, and there's also not much to it. I guess they are relying on people wanting to play it on different TVs in the house and being too lazy to move the dock that comes with it.

I got an additional dock. One for upstairs and one for down.

Find it a great addition because I love playing on the TV more than I do handheld.

Deffo worth a purchase.

Although get it from Smyths

yep i don't see the point in buying another
lmaooooooooo this is a square piece of plastic with a standard charging cable on the bottom, and couple input cables on the back. £59.99?!?
Just get a switch USB C hdmi adapter they are £20 or less and do same thing charge and send video to tv
I would say just getting an additional plug would be far cheaper, the dock itself is easy to unhook and move as it's so small, moving the cables would be a huge pain, it's insane though that this retails at £60 though

There's cheaper options then this. If that's the case because of your disability I would furious with Nintendo they have the audacity to charge this much for a bit of plastic.

Only worth a purchase if you have more money than sense, especially if using it in the same house... I'd understand if it was for another property.

Or, just more money than you perhaps? Or a specific requirement?

In fairness, it comes with another ac adapter and hdmi cable also.

Which makes it a little more sensible. I wouldn’t buy one, as someone else said, I think buying another Switch would be better, assuming you have others who would use it.
can't you just buy a cable and plug into tv from that im sure ive seen one for around £10-15
42€ official Nintendo price from their after sale store. So definitely this one is not a good deal

Station d’accueil / charge is the dock. 42€ means around 38£! And this is official Nintendo price!

Do you have a link for that?
£20 cheaper than through Nintendo themselves, still overpriced for what it is, but may help someone looking for a spare/extra.
Thanks OP, been debating between this and extra joycons or jumping on the £229 Switch at Studio and having the spare body in case of accidents.

These should be £20 at absolute most.

Literally is just some plastic casing & a USB hub
I don't even use the one that came with my switch (still in the box) never mind paying £60 for a spare one! Handheld mode FTW!

This comes with the power supply as well which is £15 to £20 on its own. £30 or £40 with PSU would be reasonable. £20 would be nice though :-p
Surely there will be a 3rd party release soon? 60 quid is ridiculous money

Yeah, after reading the reviews for that particular one, it appears Nintendo left out the 'wreck your Switch' feature on the official dock

It's literally not though.
It comes with a USB C power adapter, and an HDMI cable.
Once again people vote hot who love getting ripped off my the famous Nintendo brand.God knows how this company get away with it.

I'd thing that would be too low of a price since the power brick itself would cost about 20£... if you add the splitter (which third party ones cost about 15£ and the casing...
Then add a HDMI cable as well for 5£... since they are good quality...
I thing 35-40£ would be a fair price, even with Nintendo Tax.
Edited by: "ResveZ" 9th Jan
even with the usb c and hdmi its never worth £60. probably cost nintendo around £10 for the entire dock system

what offends you about it?

It's not a ridiculous price for a bespoke HDMI / USB 3.0 dock, with an official charger designed for the console.

This is most definitely an optional extra, and one that makes it really convenient to play the Switch in multiple rooms / in multiple houses, with minimal faff. Well worth it IMO.

yes I understand they need to make a profit but £60 for the dock is very expensive. like the other guy said £20 is what these should be. lets be honest its pretty basic usb hub and hdmi out for £60
