Originally released on the Wii U - This title includes all the fun and challenge of the original game, plus a brand-new beginner-friendly mode that lets new and novice players play as groovy surfing simian Funky Kong.

Funky Kong can double jump, hover, perform infinite rolls and even perform infinite underwater corkscrews. Thanks to his sturdy surfboard, even spikes can’t slow him down.

I've already traded my copy for the WiiU in anticipation of this. An unforgiving but excellent platformer.

It's a good offer, I'm personally a bit hesitant of selling my browsing data (much in the same way Amazon Underground requested) for £5, but fantastic for those that don't mind

But you can only use the credit once - this is same price... thus wasting the fiver - better off using the fiver on something that’ll save you money surely?

Ill install the dodgy tool bar on a pc at work that I don’t ever use claim credit and delete tool bar.... privacy intact

Anyone know if Smyths will drop the price for existing preorders or do they count the £5 off discount as a money off voucher? The wording has me confused.

Yeah but you'll be spending money in fuel/public transport costs if you don't have a store near you. Cancels that out.

That’s how it looks to me. If they do, then I’ll just cancel and reorder. Going to give them a call I think.

They don't take payment until the week before release, usually I think when the order is ready to collect. I'd probably just cancel and re-order.
There's no option to cancel a pre-order directly through the Smyths website, but I sent them an email and asked them to cancel my Kirby pre-order and they got back to me within half an hour.

If you do call let me know what they say as in the same boat.

I feel this is definitely a better platformer, depends whether you want gameplay or nostalgia I guess, though I guess DK can provide both. This is 60fps crash is 30fps is that matters at all to you.

They couldn’t confirm whether it would come under those terms so they said it’s best if they cancelled it and I reorder. They cancelled it instantly and I just reordered.

Telephone Number is 0333 344 1157 if you want to get it sorted quickly.

Thanks Buzz for the heads up.
Cool, thanks for the info, have re-ordered and sent an email to cancel the previous.

Edit: Wow, only took them 19 minutes to respond to the email and get the order cancelled. If any every company was that efficient.

Yeah agree with that. Fine for adults, but kids will just get frustrated and annoyed by the chunky feeling of controlling and moving the character.
I don't buy games from my local Smyths. They have the annoying habit of breaking the seal on new games cases and putting the game and booklet behind the counter. Just so they can put the empty case on display.

If you've already opened it then it's not new anymore and you can't sell it as a new copy!!!

Does that not void their own terms & conditions as quoted below with them doing that or do they put a sticker over the edge like game do?

"Returning an Unwanted Item

Simply return your unwanted item within 28 days of receipt unused, unopened, in its original condition and packaging. All returns must be accompanied by a valid Smyths Toys receipt or, for online returns, your dispatch confirmation email including your order reference (UK) number."

You would think so. It's this backwardness that keeps me from buying from them. Not so bad if your buying for yourself but if it's a gift that is unwanted...good luck returning it!

The last and only time I did buy a game from them, they didn't put on a sticker. I gave them the case from the shelf expecting a new copy to appear from somewhere only to see them open a draw, pull out a plastic sleeve and put my disc and manual in the case!

oh that sounds really bad, if my local store was doing that then I would be questioning this practice with customer services/ head office as my local smythes have always given me brand new games sealed.
Not worth for people who don't have travel cards that go to the store lol, will cost more than £5 and hours of time just to go get it..
