Description

Firewatch is a single-player first-person mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness.

The year is 1989. You are a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched high atop a mountain, it’s your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe. An especially hot, dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor Delilah is available to you at all times over a small, handheld radio—your only contact with the world you've left behind. But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the forest, you’ll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have.

3481898-gpP22.jpg
Includes

  • A stunningly beautiful wilderness environment that expands as you explore.
  • A tailor-made story: the choices you make shape the narrative and build relationships.
  • An edge-of-your-seat mystery.
  • Secrets and discoveries to be made over every hill.

Hope it helps someone.

Is it possible to use PayPal to purchase? Got one or two more items I want and rather not buy gift cards
A number of sales have been added to the North America eshop
The US store is the one where you need to make another account isn’t it (instead of just switching regions)

Yes, I believe so.
I wish this was on sale on UK store. Voted hot as great price for those that buy from other stores!

You can change region & apply gift cards to your main account to buy. However be aware you can't change back until the wallet is completely empty.
I really enjoyed this when I played through it on the PS4, highly recomended at this price. It's more of an interactive story than a "game", to be honest. But it's a nice story, and there are some interesting little bits to find as you play through...

I don’t understand what that means.
There's never any need to create new accounts, just don't use gift cards so you don't lose the remaining balance. Fee free cards are your friends.

Oh okay that’s cool. I don’t create accounts for SA, Switzerland, Russia etc but I thought I remembered reading for America that switching regions doesn’t work for some reason.

I can't remember now but I'm pretty sure I did that before, I switch so much I can't even recall where I've been. Might be one where you need to use a US PayPal account.

Heads up, does not play well on Switch. Waited near on a year n a half for a sale that never came, so I grabbed it last month.

Absolutely loved the game, art direction and music are fantastic, but plays incredibly choppy on Switch. Really frustrating and takes away from the experience but overall it is playable.

More chatter on Reddit about other people's framerate experiences on Switch so I'd suggest researching before buying.

Yea i was about to buy it but looked at digital foundry and they have said its a framerate mess on switch, i have this on pc but still havnt gotten around to playing it
After reading about this game I have decided to skip the Switch version and play it on a PC. The game is currently -75% discounted on GOG and you can get it under £4 :))

Quite hard to explain simply, buuuuut... North America E-shops won't accept UK bank cards (even fee free cards), therefore the method to buy from those stores is to purchase Region specific Eshop credit, e.g. USA or Canadian Eshop vouchers online.

The issue mentioned in the previous comment is that you can't change your region back to the UK if you have leftover Eshop credit in your account after your purchase (leftover gold coins are fine). An example is if you buy $20 Eshop credit and purchase a game for $19.99, you are left with $0.01 credit. This isn't enough to buy anything with but you also can't discard that leftover cent. Therefore because of that $0.01 credit in your account, the system won't allow your region to revert back to UK until that cent is somehow disposed of. This is usually a lengthy job of having to contact Nintendo of America to manually $0.00 your account, for you then to be free to switch regions.

Sorry for the lengthy explanation but it's a hell of a chore going through all of that without the knowledge.

I’ve just screwed up and done this, can’t believe I didn’t know. I had $20 gift card for ages but didn’t want to setup a separate Account so have just bought a game that was $19.99 and I’m now stuck in the US. The problem I have is my daughters will be stuck in the US too as it’s a family account. What’s the best way to sort this issue? Happy to buy more credit if needed but doubt it’s possibly to find a game for $10.01 or $20.01 🙈🙈🙈

EDIT: actually you can manually add how many Gold Coins you want to us, I have 100 so can work it that way. Good info for anyone else in the same boat

Yeah that's right, that's how I got myself out of it when I fell into that trap. In the interest of not making my previous post any longer than it already was, I didn't include that solution but that is the easiest way out of the hole if you have enough gold coins. With the recent trend of some US eshop games at $0.08 or therabouts, most of the time people should be good. Hopefully others are able to return home too!

I bought Burnstar which actually looks worth a try, it was $0.28 so just used 27 coins and my $0.01 credit

Can i switch regions between north American accounts like you can European accounts and still purchase games? Ive got a Mexican account as well as my UK one.

Edit: it's only 50p more than the Canadian store on the Mexican if I can't anyway.

what site to get price chart for e shop?
Oh this is tempting. I loved this game on the PC.
A wonderful game, for a single playthrough.
Once you know the story theres not really anything to drag you back in.
The Switch port is fairly choppy though so really unless you need it portable, go for another version.
Damn it. Just paid £15 for this thinking I never see it on sale.
Heat
More of an interactive movie than a game, the story isn't bad until it gets to the end.

Really annoyed me never seeing a silhouette in the tower throughout the game too. -_-
Doesn't seem to be on sale in Europe so I guess I'm off on holiday to America
