Has anyone ever paid £42 for a switch game that wasn’t a limited/special ed …Has anyone ever paid £42 for a switch game that wasn’t a limited/special edition.

Yes, literally millions of people.

Shop around and you’ll beat digital prices by quite a chunk any day of the week.

All of which is 100% irrelevant if you want a digital copy.

You're giving answers to a question no one's asking. So let me ask you something specific.

I want downloadable versions of Mario maker 2 & fire emblem 3 houses. Can i get them for less than £84 ?? (with £5 or so back as digital credit)

show me how i can get those 2 games as digital copies for less than £84, i'm all ears.

Think I’ll use these for a couple of the cheap mobile port games lol

Physical copies are cheaper than £42 each anyway, even on release day in most cases! Not really much incentive to go digital
I personally like this idea and have just bought my first set. Now with this price I dont need to go smyths online or cdkeys for games at about £46. Plus the gold points just got me £4 which got me a indie free.

In the end though I believe its roughly the same amount of gold points as if I bought them from other retailers and now I guess the game voucher redemption won't give me gold points. Though I do feel happier just going on the eshop but I know some people don't want the Nintendo membership just to get this deal when theres non membership options out there

That's in store only for £5 off which I wouldn't waste my time and money on transport to get to a smyths store. Usually simply games and game collection would beat smyths price and give free delivery which if I was a physical game owner I would prefer.

Most supermarkets and high streets are selling more than £42 but I get your point there are places that do sell between £37-£42
Combined with discounted eshop vouchers quite a good deal. Kind of amusing how cold it will get though with everyone chiming in on physical being cheaper as though its a revelation - if you buy digital and buy at launch this is a pretty great deal

Pretty much 50% of game sales these days are digital but if you looked on here you'd think it was like 5% because "physical is cheaper"! Yeh well apparently 50% people value immediacy and convenience over a few quid

Ohh wow goody 80 odd quid for 2 games lol
I might jump around with Mario Maker 2 and Animal Crossing. These are the kind of games that you want in your console rather than changing cartridges everytime you want to play for a short time.
This really depends on the game more than anything else... Do I want to be swapping out cards for Animal Crossing? Not really. Digital games are £55 on the eshop ish for Nintendo's own so its really a matter of what games are worth buying digital i.e. I wouldn't spend the second voucher on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Pokemon is a better choice.

On a side note, can you use Gold points or nintendo eshop credit to buy the voucher?

Are the tickets bought with eshop credit? Surely at over £50 you can save money buying the credit first as well?
If I get two games for £39.99, do I lose money?

The idea is sound, but digital would be cheaper using something like CD Keys in most cases.

I believe this deal to be equal to cdkeys prices. Plus its legal and accessible from the official console eshop
This is a good deal.

Thanks, I agree (or I wouldn't be posting it 👀) - I have £76 and some pence eShop credit so might go for this myself! I won't be pre-ordering the Super Mario Maker 2 with this as I'm (hopefully) getting the physical one with the steelbook

I’ve paid more! Splatoon and Zelda. Admittedly, both on release.

I recently sold all of my physical switch games and rebought them on eshop. It's so freeing not having to keep swapping carts, especially with the portable nature of the switch.

Haha yeah I was originally gonna preorder Super Mario Maker 2 digitally using my Nintendo eShop credit but I really want the steelbook, so I'm making the exception to pay about £60 of actual hard earned cash for this game 👀

That's fine if you have one Switch in your household. If you have more than one console, than physical copies of games make more sense.
Is it possible for one account to buy a downloaded game, and have another account on the same Switch play it?

Yes. I buy digital games over two accounts and share it over three switch's. Two switchs are the kids who will have one account each set as primary so they can play each others games and at the same time. Then on my switch I play both of the accounts when there in bed or not playing games. Which saves me money and time swapping physical games

When the kids are in the car I tether the switchs to my phone so the games can be authicated and allowed to play l
Why are digital games so expensive?? I’d love to go all digital but I don’t get why I’m paying more than I would for the physical copy

Retail stores dying off also means fewer channels for distributing video game consoles and less visibility though
