Loved my gamecube, despite the fact most people felt it was a console for kids, two of my favourite games on the platform were Resident Evil 4 and Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (best horror game ever imo).

Got the wired version of these pads, work pretty well.

Don't know if the wireless ones are the same but the wired one allows you to change from the c-stick style to a regular thumbstick.
Can anyone comment on the build qualityof these versus an original first party GC controller?
I would wait for black friday as this has been £15
Good price. Thanks OP

As someone who owns one of these and played the original to death, happy to say that these are on par. The build quality is excellent.

The wireless range is much better than the joycons and they work out the box with PC if Dolphin is your thing.

Build quality and feel in comparison to original GC pads is amazing. Not as brilliant as the wave bird but for a wireless GC controller that works flawlessly on the switch, I’d highly recommend one. Only downside is no rumble and the back triggers have to depress all the way (the old GC ones had a two way press) and no NFC reader (if that’s something you want??)
Anybody that has this controller that can vouch for build quality?
Stupid question perhaps, but are these useful for any other games besides smash Bros?

Great for Grid Auto Sport as full analog triggers, ideal for managing throttle and braking instead of the digital triggers on the pro controller/ joy cons, so it's either full throttle or full braking with no in-between.

I mean you can remap the controls to use the analog stick as throttle control but feels better with triggers imo

I have a black one and it’s excellent would pick up a grey in this price. I know some said these have been £15 but I’m fairly sure it’s the wired that was that price no?
I think it was about £15 that I paid for the wired ones, happy with them, good 2nd controller.

That said, my favourite controller of all time was the N64 trident and most people seem to hate that design.

Resident evil was so good...… I enjoyed Mario party with the family also
I'm sure this is a silly question - but does anyone know if you can use these with the original Wii and/or Wii U? I'm mainly after something for playing my gamecube games on the original Wii.

These don't have analog triggers? They have the feel but it's ultimately just a digital button.
Amazon have price matched, for anyone who still needs to use the £5 off £25 spend you can grab these for £24.99.

Also these have never been £15 (as mentioned that was for wired versions), they have been £20 in Smyths instore though.
No usb charging, requires 2 AA's 🤦

Cheers guys! Reserved ready to be collected tomorrow 😁
Recently went to an retro gaming meet up where they had an N64. Young lad looked at the controller and asked his Dad “how do I hold it?”. His Dad was younger than me!

Definitely one of the best controllers ever.(Japanese Sega Saturn controller being the other top one).
Gamecube itself the best Nintendo console ever (and SNES).no compromise ,not underpowered actually fast and powerful with great graphics.
No rumble, no NFC and input lag. Avoid.
You notice it when playing Smash, as the directional attacks fail most of the time when your presses aren’t registered in sync properly.

Thanks for the heads up. NFC doesn't matter to me but input lag is a big no.
No HD rumble also is a bummer
