If you're buying cross-region codes, you may as well just buy direct from the eShop, where it's the exact same price.

Problem is from the eShop this game would require a $20 purchase of credit and a US account. The US sale had people who didn’t want to create a US account but were OK with switching regions. So no need to create an account or buy extra credit you don’t need. You also get more gold coins by buying from stores instead of the eShop.

I agree. You'll have left over credit which is at times annoying to add a few extra bucks too to make the difference from a $3 game to a $4.99 game.

Fair enough, though it's possible just to fund the purchase directly from PayPal rather than buying credit. You lose the potential discount from buying store credit but gain convenience and teh ability to pay only the exact amount.

I was told that by making a US PayPal account but it wouldn’t work for me and every time tried adding it to the Switch it wouldn’t unless I linked a card and I give up after a couple of hours. Again though from the other post a lot of people didn’t want to make a US Paypal account. This way they can just use their PayPal and their UK account. It’s at least another option for people.

You do need an American region PayPal account - it's a bit of hassle to set up at first, so if you only making a single purchase then I can see why you might not want to.

It just wouldn’t work at all for me. I could create it but it wouldn’t let me link it to the Switch account. I ended up making a Mexican one with my card linked.

A Mexican account should work equally well - it's still part of North America.

Guys maybe someone can help me here, When I try redeem a code from tartet I get this error code from Nintendo e-shop 2813-0055, any idea of the code is simply not working or there's something else I'm missing? Switch is set "Americas" as region. Thanks

Your account, not your console, needs to be set to the US region to redeem.

Make sure not to have any credit on your account, as it would be wiped when changing region.
