I know what you mean - there are 2 of them, but the build quality does not feel as good as say the Xbox/P'S controllers.

Maybe it's the optical sensor that they have at the end of one of them that pushes the price up a little.

Waiting for a better deal than this I'm afraid and then the whole family can play Mario Kart together.

Dude I was literally about the make the same comment! I can't understand how these controllers cost so much?! They are way more than Xbox one or PS4 controllers which you can get on offers for £35. I can't imagine what advanced tech the controller could include considering how inferior the console is in relation to its peers. I feel Nintendo are just being greedy. Still can't fathom how a Select is so expensive either. Doesn't even support 1080p across its game library. It saddens me as I grew up on SNES and N64 and was an avid fan. I still play the Wii, but this seems like greed more than anything.

Ok I am joy con fan so lets get that bit out of the way first, but dare I suggest it is because:

1. You get 2 as said.
2. Unique modern design and technology (Bluetooth/motion/camera).
3. Extremely versatile, can use as a single without/with strap, or use with various different types of comfort grips, or connected to the tablet screen, or even on a wheel. There is potential for future devices not yet released to be compatible to, i.e. a light gun. Being able to use small, may suit the young kids or small hands.
4. No direct competition - there is nothing else quite like it.
5. Relatively competitively priced compared to other controllers.
6. It is Nintendo, and was never going to be cheap.
7. Fairly easy to create character themes with the joy con colours.
8. Ultimately there a quite good and a lot of people find them very comfortable to use.
I love these posts coz it always gives me a few additions to my "mute" list

Wah wah Nintendo charge too much, Switch is inferior boo hoo.

It's boring. You're wrong and it's dull.

I can see your a fan as that is one long list of nothing.
1 'you get two'. You get one split in half. Maybe they should quarter a controller and charge £150.
2 'Unique modern design' your pushing it now and it's only point number 2.
3 'can use with or without a strap' 'may suit small hands' I thought you were pushing it on point number 2 but now you've taken it to another level!
4 'there is nothing quite like it' apart from all other controllers that do exactly the same.
5 'relatively good price compared to others'' let's just compare it an Xbox elite precision controller shall we as all other controllers are cheaper.
6 'Nintendo was never going to be cheap' Nintendo has always been renowned for being the cheap alternative for kids!
7 'Character themes' still pushing it!
8 'quite good' you sold it, wheres my wallet.
Good luck in them actually being dispatched, two of my orders from this mickey mouse setup were never sent, ended up in a dispute with paypal for both orders.

Just pointing out you come across as an idiot, don't bother going to get your wallet, you clearly cant afford this item and just came here to whinge.

I voted hot as they are cheaper than usual but other than as a replacement why would anyone buy these over a pro controller? Especially now they appear to be fixing the dpad issues in the latest version. These are the least ergonomic controllers Nintendo has ever made.
Also, the code makes the Neon Yellow pair £62.10, and the Neon Green/Pink pair £62.99. Neon Red/Blue is on special offer price £62.99
Shame that I couldn't stack a voucher from my player points

Your entitled to that view, but some would also say why would anyone buy a pro controller over the Joy cons?

Room for more than one controller on HUKD anyway.

They make it complicated so you think you can't use your points. Before you checkout, you need to click on "My Account", you then need to turn your points into a voucher from there. Then after that you might need to leave or give it a minute and go back into the My Account, then click on the My Vouchers on the left menu, and you will have a voucher code listed which you can use as a promotion code at checkout.

They also limit it into amounts, so you can only take £5 for example for a £60 spend or £2.50 for a £30 spend. Not a perfect system, and they expire after a while too, so deffo use them if you find a good buy on there.

Fair point. Now I think of it I've seen some people say they like using the joycons one in each hand so they can have their hands further apart.

For me I found them so uncomfortable in handheld mode that I ended up selling my Switch. I'm still hoping they make a more ergonomic variant sooner rather than later :).
For those looking to extend the number of controllers they have consider this option I have one and they are can bring a 3rd or 4th player into play easily with joy pads that you already have.

It works brilliant but you only get one controller per device.
Quick explanation that it can change Xbox 360/Xbox one/PS3/PS4/WiiU controller to work on the switch also the PC too. Wireless and wired pass through compatble it works with the Xbox one elite controller too!

Do you honestly think the price of these controllers is in-line with Nintendo's marketing towards having fun with friends and family? They're relatively expensive for a first party 'primary' controller and none of the technology blamed for costs in the tear-downs seems to be going to much use at the moment (HD rumble / NFC 'sell Amiibos' / Motion / IR Camera).

Execs and fan-boys can cry all they want but a pair should be £40 at the absolute most. At least one of these features or licensing fees is costing Nintendo a lot of money or the rrp would be much lower. No aspect of the Joy-Con screams quality or justifies the cost. The triggers are cramp inducing and anyone who thinks these work well as separate pads has lost the plot or has a very tolerant group of people to play with.

Shouldn't you be at school at half one instead of posting on here.
All of your points were absolute nonsense.
Let me just refer you back to one of your justifications for high price "you can use with a strap"
Get yourself back to your art lesson and finish your picture of mario.

I didn't make any points except that you were coming across as an idiot?

It still stands.
