Designed for on-the-go gaming

It's ready to go whenever you are! The Nintendo Switch Lite has been designed with on-the-go gaming in mind, so you can jump into your games on your commute, on a flight, out at the park - anywhere at all.

Weighing only 276g, it's super lightweight, so it's perfect for popping in your backpack or bag for some spontaneous gaming if you find yourself with some time to kill. The controllers are built-in too, so there's no chance of them getting damaged or lost when you're out and about.

The Switch Lite plays the whole library of Nintendo Switch games that have a handheld mode, so if you've already got a Switch console, loads of your games will already be compatible.

More multiplayer options

Link up to eight Switch or Switch Lite consoles to play with friends instantly. In handheld mode, the Switch can detect other consoles, making it easy to start playing local multiplayer games in just a few moments, with no complicated pairing or setup.

Connect your Nintendo Switch online for multiplayer action with or against players from all over the world. Compete against others, or team up in future co-operative games.

Get more from your console

It's not just for gaming. With the News feature, you can get the latest news and updates while you're connected to the internet. And with the Album feature, you can take screenshots to save to your hard drive or share directly and instantly to social media. Now no one can accuse you of fibbing about that unbelievable high score!

Your games stored internally

Store your games on 32 GB of internal memory - so you've always got all your favourites with you. If you just can't choose, you can easily upgrade the storage using microSDHC or microSDXC cards so you've got space for your whole library.

What a completely silly comment to make. PS5 games could retail for £50 - £60 for all we know.

Switch games holding their value is also good for the consumer as it means that they can be sold on at a higher price once completed. Swings and roundabouts really.

Does anyone own a lite and a normal one? Is there much difference between them? I'm guessing a save point for a game only applies for the console its played on?
I brought this for £174.99 yesterday 😳

Lite is smaller and cannot be docked to tv
Love this console

More in terms of weight and fit in the hand? . I've got the original but I keep feeling drawn to a lite version but I'm not sure if there is enough difference to warrant both?
Need some game bundles.

Can anybody suggest any good games for this? I’m on the fence to be honest. I like new super Mario Brothers, Mario kart, I’m not into the 3d Mario games and then I like general shooters/adventure games. Thanks!

I had the original and didn’t really like the way it felt when I was playing it, almost like it was too wide and heavy to hold comfortably for a prolonged period of time (personal opinion).

I got the lite a couple of weeks ago and I much prefer it. The screen is smaller and the battery is smaller, but I’m happy to live with that because playing it is more comfortable.

The lite is much easier/comfier to hold in my opinion. Much prefer it to the normal switch as I never docked it anyway. There is a great bit of kit from Game which clicks around it to give you grip handles & game slots on the back x

I have both. All saves are to the console you are playing on of course but if you have Nintendo Switch Online saves are pushed up to the cloud. When you go to another Switch, just browse to a game and download the latest save. It’s quick and easy. NSO is essential imo.

if you enjoy portable play, I would say it’s well worth it for the comfort alone. Really solid and great design.
Only worry about these is the controller's fecking up. At least with the full fat switch you can just change the joycons if out of warranty.

New thumb sticks are around £6-8 each, and require no soldering skills, just being careful with disassembly and plenty of guides on YT to help. I understand it’s a concern, but if after 12 months you haven’t had the issue, then it’s a cheap fix if it happens out of warranty 🏻
How does the free Spotify work, can existing customers just redeem a code for an additional 6 months?

If you're generally into shooters and adventure games, this is not the system for you. (Point and click adventures, perhaps, but your post suggested otherwise)

I bought one to play indie games on and the occasional first party game.

Check my edit. I thought you meant you were actively looking to buy shooters on the Lite, which Nintendo consoles don't tend to have, and I don't think the Switch has any.

You'll need to be broader with your preferences to help us help you

I was thinking the same. Nice price for the console so voted hot but majority of the games are still pretty expensive, especially first party games, so you're still realistically looking at over £200 for console and AAA game.
Have a normal Switch with extended battery but really tempted by a Lite to take to work etc with me! The only thing putting me off is a possible Pro model coming out at some point..!

Doom, wolfenstein 2, wolfenstein Youngblood doom 1&2 classic, turok, overwatch, coming soon outerworlds and doom eternal.
Think that’s enough to be getting on with.

How can I forget Metroid prime 4.

I think I’d go for the normal switch but there’s no deals whatsoever I can find. What’s the pro model going to add? 1080
So this is console only, no games?

Then I'll wait, no problem with that.

I did the same with the Wii U, locally picked one up for £40 last year and found it an amazing console. Im in no rush with Nintendo as most AAA games are all Mario/Zelda/Pokemon

Not all games support cloud saves. Most of the popular titles like Pokemon don't.

I highly doubt that. Cheapest we seen is about £80.

Fair point. Absolutely none of those games appeal to me (I'm not a shooter kind of person, though I try Wolfenstein 2) so I can see why I couldn't think of them, nor remember if any of them were Switch games
Never had a Nintendo but used to love my PSP. Can I get similar games on this? I like racing games like forza/need for speed, gta, Star Wars, some space stuff?
