having the ability to dock is worth the extra cash IMHO. the console runs at a higher clock rate when docked in most situations.

More of an accompaniment to PS4 than an alternative

ps4 has better frame rates when plugged in

Decent that - links awakening still selling for £35 at Cex, so could blast through it in a few days and get cash for another game
Physical game or a download? Great deal either way

Not convinced if this is a good alternative for the PS4, but heat added for the price.
Waiting for Black Friday deals or see if they do an animal crossing themed one but great deal
Yawn, no boobs
No sale
Great deal.

Heat but hoping amazon price match
Just bought the Currys ebay bundle few days ago, would rather have got from a physical store in case of issues down the line. Anyone one had experience of returning a unwanted product to Currys ebay? Would’ve refused delivery this afternoon had this come up.

Dont think its ever been seen as an alternative to a PS/XB. Though it makes for an amazing second console for its exclusives.

I decided to get the Switch v2 instead, £100 just doesn't seem worth everything you lose.
Apparently these use the same analogue sticks still as the Joy-cons. So when drift issues hit you'll have to send the whole switch back not just a joycon. I could be wrong, it's just what I've read. But I've sent both my Joy-cons back, I've got friends with drift, I saw someone has drift already on a lite. I love the Switch probably my favourite console ever but I wouldn't wanna risk one of these with the potential drift issues, especially once Nintendo decides warranties up (at the moment they still fix launch Joy-cons for free, with proof of purchase)
I too love Nintendo and we bought our two boys a switch each. All 4 joycons have the drift issue. You're forced to buy a pro controller or similar. Its utterly abhorrent that they are selling faulty products. Everyone should boycott Nintendo for this. Shame on them. And I hope karma bites em on the ass.

Joy cons are a very easy fix and you could buy 4 replacement sticks with the tools for £20 if that! Attached is a link to a good, brief guide.

You could also send them in to Nintendo for repair and they should fix them regardless of warranty as they have an impending lawsuit against them for allowing this fault to continue since launch.

A switch each! Whatever happened to sharing? Mr moneybags
All over this if it was online. Our local Tesco sells no hardware and only about 5 games at any one time

Unlikely, animal crossing delayed till 2020.

I guess within the year they have to honour their guarantee, I could pay by credit card at tesco and get the extra year just incase these drift issues are more widespread..

Yeah it comes out in March so I may wait until then all depends on the deals around Black Friday

Better frame rates but more drift.
Heh, first (and probably last) time you’ll see FIFA 20 listed under “decent titles”

It’s an absolute train wreck on Switch, apparently. Best avoided!
Why would anyone buy this over the original switch, all things considered?
Do not buy a Nintendo switch until the drift issue is sorted.

I have a switch and the drift is so bad i cant use handheld mode, i have 2 use a pro controller at all times!

I'm trying to measure FPS unplugged, but my PS4 is taking ages to boot up...
Just got mine a week ago and I can say, it's worth it if you own the original Switch.

This is by far lighter and sturdier.

but if you don't own the original then I wouldn't really recommend this as you want the best features (TV and so on)

Both my switch has no drift issues (lucky me)

Be aware - I have had this since launch which was not long ago, not played massively and only played BOTW and the left stick already has severe drift issues, I am sending mine back for a replacement unit.

EDIT - I beleive there is already a new version in the works, possibly to correct drift issues?

If all you want is a portable console (ie. New version of the game boy) and would never want to Dock it?
Anyone know how long this deals going to run for? Might not be able to purchase until Wednesday...
If I hadn't got the Currys deal with Links Awakening a few weeks ago I'd be all for this as I'd have liked a different game even though LA is still fun.

It's definitely not a original switch replacement if you're going to want TV mode and handheld mode, but as a portable only device it's been good for me.

Not had drift issues noticed but then I've only played one game on and off over a couple of weeks.

I think this statement depends a bit on whether you're using the switch as your only console.
I currently also have a PS4 Pro which I use with the TV obviously.
For me, saving the cash by buying the cheaper more portable friendly switch lite makes more sense.
But yes, if the switch is your only console, paying an additional c.£80 is a sensible thing to do, to give you the option of docked play.

Cheaper, better looking, more comfortable to hold, less creaky/sturdier.

"your mileage may vary"

if I had to choose again given that there are now 2 SKUs, I still wouldn't choose the Lite.

the dock is the only way to output 5.1 surround sound, docking often unlocks higher clock rates, specific games rely on having Joy-Con, there's no rumble in the built-in controllers. these mean a lot to me.
