Designed for on-the-go gaming

It's ready to go whenever you are! The Nintendo Switch Lite has been designed with on-the-go gaming in mind, so you can jump into your games on your commute, on a flight, out at the park - anywhere at all.

Weighing only 276g, it's super lightweight, so it's perfect for popping in your backpack or bag for some spontaneous gaming if you find yourself with some time to kill. The controllers are built-in too, so there's no chance of them getting damaged or lost when you're out and about.

The Switch Lite plays the whole library of Nintendo Switch games that have a handheld mode, so if you've already got a Switch console, loads of your games will already be compatible.

More multiplayer options

Link up to eight Switch or Switch Lite consoles to play with friends instantly. In handheld mode, the Switch can detect other consoles, making it easy to start playing local multiplayer games in just a few moments, with no complicated pairing or setup.

Connect your Nintendo Switch online for multiplayer action with or against players from all over the world. Compete against others, or team up in future co-operative games.

Get more from your console

It's not just for gaming. With the News feature, you can get the latest news and updates while you're connected to the internet. And with the Album feature, you can take screenshots to save to your hard drive or share directly and instantly to social media. Now no one can doubt that unbelievable high score!

Your games stored internally

Store your games on 32 GB of internal memory - so you've always got all your favourites with you. If you just can't choose, you can easily upgrade the storage using microSDHC or microSDXC cards so you've got space for your whole library.

That might be account specific? Was it e-mailed to you?

That’s definitely account specific. They’ve sent them out to a few people. I believe it’s 10% off £100 spend. I know someone who was sent one but I don’t have it (and the codes don’t work on my account)

Fs i shoulda bought a few game with it 🙈
The voucher works for me but even at that price I dont think it's worth it when you see how much the games are. Looking at at least 100 for the 3 top games.... Just don't know if I can justify it when you can pick up amazing games on the PS4 for a lot less
Can’t play your PS4 on an aeroplane/ at the park / on the train / on the go....... !!!
Getting to bite point money. But I have 2 switches and worries about the joystick drift on these.

Problem is I'm on a plane or a train maybe 4 times a year... So most of the time I'd be playing it on the sofa anyways !!

Calm down dear... I don't see the point of these. The whole idea behind the switch was to go portable and then Dock it when you get back home and carry on playing your childish games.
If you was going to buy a switch then surely the full fat one is the way to go otherwise this is just a fancy Nintendo tablet

What are all these extra features on the Switch v2 I'm missing out on?

- The ability to dock.
- The ability to remove and add Joycons.
- The ability to easily repair thumb-stick drifting issues by switching in new Joycons.
- 100% of games being compatible.
- A bigger screen.
- Longer battery life.
- Better build quality and finish.
- HD rumble.
Is it worthwhile buying this? My daughter loves the Animal Crossing game and the new one (out on 20th March) is exclusive to Switch. We don't have a one and I'm quite reluctant to buy it just for one game! Is the Switch Lite any good, help!?
anyone played the witcher on this , how is it?
Are there rarely any deals for extra joy-cons?

I don't see how a handheld games console is comparable to a tablet, in terms of the games on it or the controls. For a lot of the major Nintendo games, playing on the Lite is exactly the same as playing on the regular Switch except *MUCH* more comfortable (for me at least), and also cheaper to get.

I bought the main Switch as wanted to play Ring Fit Adventure but if I ever decide I don't want to play that any more I'd probs sell it for a Lite. Most of the time when I'm at home I'd prefer to play handheld, but it isn't really comfy for me to do so. I don't even take my console anywhere but if I did that would be another bonus for the Lite.

My brother has no TV and only wants a couple of games which don't utilise anything that the Lite lacks, so it made sense for him to get the Lite.

So yeah, there's quite a lot of ways in which the Lite can be a better buy for some people. I get that the Switch-ingness was a key advertising point but remember that a lot of Switch games are Nintendo exclusives so for many people it was never the key selling point. Tons of people were going to get the next Nintendo console for Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Animal Crossing etc regardless of whether it was a handheld or regular console or the hybrid that the regular Switch turned out to be!

Which is weird because people I know with the full fat switch never undock it.. Like you say not one size fits all.
