Probably people not reading and seeing a 2nd hand switch for 300 quid..
This looks like a good deal but it won't last long as cex stock increases..

It's because the Nintendo Defence Force don't want their new console to be perceived as a glorified door stop so soon after its launch...
I'm not going to do it but that's a hot deal.

A glorified doorstop that people are willing to pay £350 ? Can you not just accept that people like different things? I love all the current consoles but being able to play such an awesome life changing game anywhere is revolutionary

Nah, just people seeing the word 'Switch' and voting cold. You know for **** and giggles, top top banter!
Heat added, I can get a switch for £238 so £62 profit!!!!
I literally just managed to get a neon one in an argos store in Cardiff, South Wales for the standard RRP.... this is insane lol

PSP Go did it first. Actually, Sega Nomad did it even before that...

There's nothing revolutionary about the Switch, but if it fits your narrative, then go ahead...

I'll just look at the lack of third party support, and the cooling sales figures, in order to determine as to whether the Switch is a "Peoples' machine" or not. The lack of AAA releases suggests it isn't...

Sony stated that over 1000 developers were working on PS4 titles before it even launched.

How many are working on the Switch? NOT MANY! At least try to get your facts right before you try and make counter points. Makes you look a tad uneducated otherwise.

Subjective argument. People vote with their wallets. Sales figures suggest that you're barking up the wrong tree.

You are not the judge and jury. Because in every case when it comes to Nintendo consoles over the last decade, you will find that you're being vastly outvoted.
Prankster you spelled your name wrong... You typed a 'Pr' instead of a 'W'.

That edit though

Yea we will see, current sales are excellent, where did you hear differently? Not sure what relevance sales has to the quality of the games the ps4 had right after launch. I don't remember there being anything particularly good until the second year and the switch just launched with one of the best games ever made.

Again that's a subjective argument... But it's worth bearing in mind that Zelda is an up-scaled Wii U port (that still doesn't run at respectable frame rates).

I will concede that there is a certain validity to your argument about not writing the Switch off just yet. And that one should wait for sales figures further down the line... But the lack of popular (retail and third party) support suggests that the Switch will be a niche concern at best. Sure, it might placate Nintendo fans, but a "peoples' machine" it most certainly is not looking to be...

In any case, check out the popular comments for a certain article that discussed Reggie's assertion that the Switch is setting all kinds of records. The most popular comment is below:

PR Doublespeak:
We are setting records every day

Reality:
Nintendo Switch sales are already slowing down

Nintendo have an absolute mountain to climb, not least in convincing developers, retailers, AND the general public that the Switch is a viable machine going forward. The fact that Switch deals on this site are generally going cold, suggests that the people aren't wholly convinced in what Nintendo are offering.

"Peoples' machine, I have an Xbox One and PS4 for those kind of games. I dont buy a Nintendo to play third party games, I buy them to play Nintendo games and BOTW proves they still have it.

I never said it was or would be a "peoples' machine" all i care about is its by far the best handheld console ever released and the first to let you play true AAA games. I'll keep my ps4 and pc as well but seeing as the switch is portable I may start buying a lot more games for it than anything else. In general I'd say waiting and seeing is a good idea, but I don't like waiting.

"I dont buy a Nintendo to play third party games, I buy them to play Nintendo games and BOTW proves they still have it."

Again, that's your opinion. An opinion not substantiated by sales fact.

The Wii U is a Nintendo Greatest Hits machine. And it only sold what? 13-odd million?

Also, (renowned reviewer) Jim Sterling doesn't agree with your sentiment.

"BOTW proves they still have it"

Obviously not in ample supply - exhibit 1 and 2.

I could talk about games like Metroid Federation Force also... But I hope you get where I'm coming from.

This. I was totally happy with my Wii U being my alternate console to my PS3/PS4 and it will be the same with the switch. I dont see a competition between just that they sit well side by side and have their differences

"all i care about is its by far the best handheld console ever released and the first to let you play true AAA games."

The PSP and Vita both tried it.. Vita failed miserably. There's a number of reasons as to why people don't want AAA games on the go (which accounts for why the Gameoy, DS and 3DS were popular - but that's an argument for another day). Another fact is that AAA games in today's market cost an absolute ton to make, and the handheld market just isn't big enough to support titles of that calibre - only 10% of overall videogame market. So yeah, you might want AAA games. But the general market perceives there to be little need for such a device. Also, market forces will dictate that you won't be getting many AAA games on the Switch. And as stated previously, there's hardly anyone developing games for it (save Nintendo).

EDIT: Bed time...

Well if its grief then it's a weird kind of grief, I literally haven't had this much fun playing a video game since the late 90's, I shti you knot. 70 hours in on BOTW and barely scratched the surface with it. Maybe its you that's in denial, refusing to accept that Nintendo could still make one of the best games of all time.

I wish I was but I'm afraid it does appear thee other way round. Let me explain why... in simple words.... well, forget it! I can see you're talking about Zelda which is the game not the console. So, I see no point talking about the console at this point...

Yeah BOTW is a very good game, you should doubt anyone who says it's not. I hear many people are also playing it on the Wii U', is that right? (_;)
I swear people are cold voting every Switch deal on HUKD just because it's cool to hate Nintendo at the moment.
