I just paid for one at a desk in Tescos. They are ordering in the console and games separately from two different depos for pick up tomorrow.

Been playing with this solidly since I collected it. Such a quality console and Mario Odyssey is a great game. So much fun. Had originally wanted grey joycons but actually I really like the coloured ones and they are great for easily keeping track of which is which

Agree. I thought the colors would be garish, but they are strangely cool. Odyssey is great (though some instructions wouldn't go amiss).

Is there any reason to go with this deal over the £279 offering from studio apart from the fact that it’s Tesco direct and includes odyssey instead?

I tried to order apparently they don't have any copies of Mario odyssey left in stock and let's be honest no one's buying it for the roger rabbits battle royale game

There's that, but also many people don't trust Studio at all, and they often don't honour the discounts.

I don’t like the idea of it being credit based rather than just taking my money upfront.

That's what seems to be happening! Most people seem to have got their refund back, but after 2 months! If I were you, with this amount of money, I would only go through a trusted retailer, such as Tesco, although I'm waiting for this deal (or an equivalent) to return before I bite.
