What would you do if your fears were hacked? >observer_ is a cyberpunk horror game from Bloober Team, the creators of Layers of Fear. Discover a dark cyberpunk world beset by plagues, war and squalor. Play as the new front line of neural police as you hack into the jagged minds of the insane.

Features:

▪Observe and Report - You are Dan Lazarski, an elite neural detective known as an Observer, and part of a corporate-funded police unit whose purpose is to hack and invade suspects’ minds. In this future, anything you think, feel, or remember can be used against you in a court of law.

▪A Dark Dystopia - The year is 2084. If you somehow survived the Nanophage, odds are you were killed in the War. Those who live have turned to drugs, VR, neural implants— anything to distract themselves from this new reality. But they can’t hide from you.

▪Interactive Insanity - As you hack into the unstable minds of criminals and victims to look for clues, you will relive their darkest fears, forcing you to question your own reality -- and your sanity.

▪A New Horror from the Creators of Layers of Fear - The largest and most frightening world yet from Bloober Team! Lose yourself -- and your sanity -- in the dark dystopia that is 2084. >observer_ is a horror experience meant for mature audiences. What you see will disturb you.

His voice acting in this is so bad it's good. RIP
RIP
Cool game
Anyone know how this compares to other versions
Got this yesterday , really enjoying it. R.I.P Rutger, also picked up layers of fear
I stopped playing this when I got to a really terrible stealth section that sucked all the fun out of the game. I should probably pick it up again.
If anyone has an answer to this question, that would be great. Would prefer to get this for the Switch, but not if it’s a bad port.
I really want a physical copy of this. However, considering I've got about £7 in store credit, ill grab this!
Do I buy this or State of Mind for £12.23?

Tough choice. They’re both futuristic, cerebral technologically impressive portable titles - one has a clean, youthful feel, the other is old and dirty. I have state of mind on Switch and observer on Xbox (and just bought it again on Switch now but haven’t had a chance to test it fully yet).

Ive played more of observer - it feels more familiar to me gameplay wise. State of mind feels fresh but a little clinical.

Can you get both? I’d also recommend doom 3 around the same price if you want something more visceral as it is so action packed and fast moving compared to these two

I'll probably get both haha I've had my eye on State of Mind for a while, waiting for a decent deal and this looks like it. I hadn't even heard of Observer until this deal, and to see Rutger Hauer playing a part really piqued my interest.

I played Doom 3 years ago and still go back to 1 & 2 frequently. Actually had Doom for my GBA back in the day! Will end up buying these Switch ports at some point no doubt

Ok I’ve had some time to play it on Switch (I also have it on One X) and it’s a decent port.

First thing to do though is turn up sensitivity in the controls. Don’t know what the hell they were thinking. It felt stupidly sluggish until I changed that although it is supposed to be a slower paced game anyway (this is not an action game).

Graphics look great, gameplay not affected by port to switch, it plays well on the go (it tells you how many seconds since last save for example) but this is a very dark game visually so keep that in mind if you want to play during daytime.

Ive actually had this game crash and glitch on my One X but as the game is all about that it wasn’t a serious problem.

Interestingly I did have a glitch on my Switch (the camera got stuck while I was looking at an in game computer) but I was able to get out of it by pressing the Switch home button and then pressing the game icon again and the glitch was gone.
Thank you
