Do these have an expiration date? I have a personal account running out in June so I'd be keen to keep this code until then.

I believe they would not have an expiration date, as ShopTo get them direct from Nintendo. You should ask ShopTo for certain. *FYI they have had this at this price [availability on and off] for the last few months

Does anyone know if it's possible to convert a standard membership to a family one? And, if so, how?

Thanks in advance.

As a complete novice can someone pls help me out, I got my son the switch but need clarification on this deal.. does this membership allow you access to all games available for the switch via the eshop from the games console or only certain games? Sorry in advance for a silly question

Not silly at all. This does a couple of things for you:
- gives you access to online multiplayer features for games that support it
- gives access to a few special pieces of software, namely the NES and SNES retro console software (and the games within them), and Tetris 99 — these are otherwise unavailable
- some online backup stuff that no-one cares about

It doesn’t give you access to anything else, so games with a price next to them in the estore remain the same for-pay products.

Do note that this is a family membership, which allows something like 6 accounts this access. If it’s just for your son, he’ll only need an individual membership (one account), which is a bit cheaper. Although not a lot! A family membership is good if there are multiple people using the console to play games online (separately).

Also bear in mind that this is a yearly subscription that renews at full price (unless you buy further prepay vouchers).

This is a confusing service!

It allows online play of your purchased games (e.g. Mario Kart 8, Splatoon 2, Smash Bros ...)
However it contains a library of vintage NES and SNES games that you can play online as part of the service.

anyone selling spots on their membership?
I'm looking for spots to buy as well...
I got family one but never use extra accounts on the switch for the kids , all it did was stop me getting the free twitch prime membership
I ordered and paid for a PS Plus membership only I've yet to receive a code, an hour and a half on. The digital items page is blank where the code should display.

£39.85 (Shopto) verses £49.99 (PSN) which is grand if a code ever appears.

I will add that I got this Nintendo Family Pass a few months back which presented a code immediately.

Anyone else having issues?

I once had an issue after purchasing a digital code from them, it turned out the reason it was being delayed was random security check I think they said. Hit them up on twitter or somehow, GL

If you; have games you want to play online; want to play the NES & Super NES games; Tetris99 online; cloud saves; any of the exclusive offers like Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers. Don't forget this is for upto 8 accounts, so you can band together and share the cost Or just go for an individual membership for cheaper if you prefer.
*7 day free trial available don't forget
