Cheers. Son just came in to say his online had expired and handed me his switch to input the payment. Was just about to fork out £17.99 when remembered the first commandment “thou must never pay full price without checking hukd first”

Hahhahahaa. He's been begging me for fortnite. Thanks for the feedback

You don't need Switch online for Fortnite either, it's free!

Yeah, that's the way to do it if you can get on a group. Shopto is cheapest for that atm though

Some uses your kid may have for this (depending on what their friends have, and play)

Mario Kart online
Minecraft online
Pokemon trading / battles online
... fortnite (preferably not lmao)
and then there's the snes and nes games + tetris 99, which I don't think are really for kids so much as nostalgic adults.

also in terms of safety, the switch has the least interactivity with other players, meaning no creeps to watch out for, or nasty adults yelling at your kid on multiplayer games.

Can someone clarify, in terms of sub-accounts on the Switch.

It's my sons Switch but my daughter uses it occasionally so has her own account. In terms of having a similar setup on my PS4 wi know that my own account having PS+ allows anyone on the console (ie: them) to piggy back on and get online access.

Is this the same for the switch or is it strictly one account per online subscription ? Do i need to pay more for the family plan even if it's just the one device?
Is the Nintendo online per account or per Switch device? For example, my son and I both have account on a Switch - Would this allow us both to access online games?

All free games don't require it
Do I look stupid if I ask how to activate the online membership? I've tried to use as a prepaid code and I've got the message: "The code you have entered is not a Nintendo eShop prepaid code.
Please check the code you have and try entering it again"
I copy/paste the code, so, can't be wrong entered

I’m the parent on my 8 year old’s switch.
If I subscribe, does he share my benefits?
Or do we need the family pass and take a sub each?

sorry if that’s a stupid question.

Not a stupid question at all. You need one membership per account, so if he uses his own account and you use yours you'll need to buy a family membership.
Great stuff.

Thanks a bunch.
How long does it take to deliver? Bought this morning around 9.
