THE WORLD NEEDS HEROES

The fight for the future arrives on Nintendo Switch! Play Blizzard Entertainment’s acclaimed team-based shooter at home or on the go* with Overwatch® Legendary Edition, which comes complete with all of the latest heroes, maps, and game updates—along with a new Switch-exclusive control option that takes advantage of the console’s unique capabilities.

Overwatch features 31 unique heroes, each bringing their own incredible powers and game-changing ultimate abilities into battle on objective-based maps set across the world. Players can switch heroes mid-match to adapt to the ever-changing situation on the field—but victory will best be achieved when heroes combine their powers and act as a unified team.

Not sure I've ever been wrong, actually...

10 new heroes

16 new maps

10 new game modes

6 holidays events every year (18 at this point)

Multiple hero reworks

The ability to watch back your games from any pov

Releasing the same in game tools they use to code new heroes and modes so the community can make their own heroes / gamemodes.

If you only count the top 4 on the list as substantial then that is still 54 separate pieces of free content in 36 months.

First time for everything I guess

But at least you can play it on your mum's toilet now

Isn’t this a code In a box?

Not in this instance, no. It'll be two digital codes.

I can't really price compare with CDKeys, where it's £23.99. This comes with 3 months Nintendo Online.

Keeps getting cheaper by the second
Crazy price!
Methinks this is a sign that the price is either going to keep going down or at the very least be consistent enough until we can find out whether this port is any good or not.
£24 for a game that is over 3 years old with not much content, YIKES!

Not much content? right now the only other game this gen that has more content is probably Smash Bros Ultimate. On PS4 I'm like level 750 and I still have hundreds of cosmetics left to unlock.

Eh? The game has been supported with new characters, maps, modes and limited time events since day one, and is one of the most repayable and deep online FPS games around. It is definitely not lacking in content.

I think what you're trying to say is 'it doesn't have a single player story'.

No I didn't mean to say that.

I agree. I've never seen a game supported so much by the devs for so long. It's a great game. I've got it on xbox and more than happy to buy on switch
Caved in and ordered - needing something new for the Switch as is and haven't played this on the xbox ...
Will it be 30fps though.
The thing that's stopped me buying this is the lack of cross save.

Cross-play I understand - it must be technically difficult and there are good reasons why one platform would have an advantage over the other in competitive play. However, the lack of cross save for things like cosmetic items is disgraceful. As far as I know, the only skins that will carry over from PC/PS4 etc are those linked to your Blizzard account such as BlizzCon items.

Having built up hundreds of skins on PC, I don't want to have to start that process again. Surely it's just a flag in the character database? Pathetic that they can't (or wont) do it.

30fps locked for both undocked (720p) and docked (900p) resolutions.
Great game, great price. The recent changes to competitive that include role lock have really given this game a new lease of life! Heat added.

No cross save = no sale.
This price is rubbish. This game has been out since May 2016. It's old and garbage now.

Hope this doesn't look terrible in comparison to xbox/ps like mortal kombat etc

Not anymore, Dota, LOL and WOWClassic all pull bigger numbers.
My biggest concern is it running well on Switch. I'll watch a few videos on it and see if it at least keeps a stable 30FPS
rpillowae33411/09/2019 16:49

Hence why I said channel not the game itself.......

wow had 1m viewers 2 weeks ago it is now sitting at 189k
(80% drop and thats before bigger streamers like shroud / sodapoppin drop wow for bordlerlands)

dota and lol might pull bigger numbers but there are fewer games that pull in those numbers compaired to the 4 days a week for 6 months that owl does.

Do I buy this or wait for it to go cheaper (physical)? Can anyone tell me the space it takes? Running out a bit.

12.1gb but it gets frequent updates so you probably want 15GB+ free space.

It will be awhile before we see physical copies at £20 and its one of those games you probably want at launch or you will find the game harder to get into / good at when everyone else knows what they should be doing to some extent.

How do you know this? Both offers is labeled as "Digital Product". They differ only in pictures and price. So both can be with or without a box - completely digital.

As you've mentioned, they haven't used the Overwatch box as they have in the other listing...

Also the £29.85 product is listed under 'Homepage > Nintendo > Genres > Adventure > Overwatch Legendary Edition + 3 month Membership'

Where as this is under 'Homepage > Nintendo > Nintendo EShop > Switch Download > Overwatch Legendary Edition + 3 month Membership Switch Download'

As my old man used to say - "upstairs for thinking"

I like the game but you’re not wrong.

Look at the Switch version of Dead by Daylight though.

They’re looking £35 for it and it hasn’t got any of the DLCs are anything included with it. Overwatch doesn’t seem to have the Switch tax applied.

I won’t buy it for Switch though, I want my cosmetics with me.
Can anyone confirm if you get a code in advance or if anyone already has theirs? Chose the pay on release option on PayPal and got charged instantly, no codes yet but one of my recent PSN wallet codes did take a while. I know the game has a pre-load option so wasn't sure if I would be getting my code today or they treat all digital products as standard purchases not pre-orders.

Already confirmed by Digital Foundary that it is :-(
