Fantastic price
Ok probably a very silly question but how much better is this than the basic controllers what came with the switch?
Is this worth it even with the D pad problem?
Good deal and thanks for posting! ....but I've spent way too much already on switch stuff

As in the Joy Cons? These are much better in my opinion, they’re easier to hold for multiplayer than sharing the Joy Cons between two people. Not only that but you can play and charge using the USB-C cable as opposed to having to wait for the Joy Cons to charge on the dock

Much better, I own all major platforms and the Xbox One was the most comfortable until I got this. If you're on a budget the Mario and Zelda ones are very nice too but of course they have the downside of being wired.

Silly question, but is there anything extra you can do in a game with this controller that you can't do with the joycons?
I've had my Switch for six months and I've been fine without one of these. I don't think a Pro Controller is in any way essential for enjoying Switch - either docked or undocked. That said, If I had fifty quid going spare I'd probably bite...
Isnt this the version with the dodgey d pad?
Must admit, I thought this would be a day 1 purchase when getting the Switch for Christmas, however using the Joycons on their grip and the 8bitdo controller I was gifted, haven't felt the need to get one! Both work fantastic, can imagine that for the more intense games such as Splatoon and Fifa, maybe, the Pro would come into its own, but playing Mario Kart 8 and Odyssey has been a doddle!
I recently picked up the pro controller for the wii u. Was devastated to find out when I bought the switch I had to buy another pro controller. Luckily I purchased the dongle which allows the wii u pro controller to be used on the switch. Win.

Keep in mind you cannot disable bluetooth with this controller when the console is docked. Absolutely crazy, but for whatever reason, you cannot turn it off.

Returned mine to amazon today. Wouldn't recharge. Looked online and it's a known issue. Changed battery as quite simple they use nintendo 3ds battery. And still didn't work. Only worked when usb connected. Oh well.

Yeah - You can sit on your sofa and play games when docked without having to pee about with the dock location when the joycons keep disconnecting.

It would be the best if not for the dpad. For me xbox controller still takes the crown in this gen.
As far as I know, the Xenoblade controller is the only one thus far with the d-pad fixed.

Ive not had a problem with mine that I got at launch, whats the problem with the dpad
Just to clear up the usual stuff posted in a pro thread.

Yes you can get a wrong result by pressing up on the left/right parts of the d-pad but it doesn't happen in game - and there's no "fixed" version - one person said it was "fixed" in the Xeno version and that went viral - it's fine to get this one,

The pro has motion controls and Ive been able to do Cappy control in Mario and the alignment puzzles in Zelda.

Its def worth getting on if you play docked.

What is supposed to be wrong with it? I've seen a few comments about it but none say what it is, and I haven't noticed anything bad with mine.

Except not a must own, many of us are very happy with joy con's on comfort grips.

I think this is it:

MAGIC-NS Wireless Controller Adapter for NINTENDO SWITCH & PC amazon.co.uk/dp/…SKQ

Haven't tried it myself but it works according to the reviews, looks like a few people got unlucky with broken ones though.

several pro controllers have a d-pad issue where by clicking left or right it would register a up click as well. this also happens when clicking up/down, sometimes it activates left or right (more commonly). So unintended multiple directions press.
This seems to have been a hardware issue that was fixed.

That's never happened to me and I have 7 joy con's (3½ pairs). Can the pro controller read amiibo like the joycons can?
hard to unlearn what you think youve "heard" on the interweb but please try - a) its not false presses - you have to do something specific on the d to get a wrong result - i.e. it doesnt happen in game - and b) its not been "fixed".

No point repeating it because something heard once on the web beats any amount of info from actual users I know....

Yeah it can. Pro controller has NFC built in.
I bought the SF30 in the deal a few days ago.. Anyone that has got or has used both what would you say to compare the two apart from the location of buttons which is obvious. A good alternative?
