The Nintendo Switch Pro-Controller is a premium product boasting premium grips and a semi-transparent casing. It has the same buttons as the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode and is designed to be held and operated more easily than the Joy-Con controllers. The primary difference in the controls is that while the directional controls on the Joy-Con (L) are made up of different buttons, the pro controller has a single plus control pad, similar to previous systems. Note: If the buttons are not working power off the console and clean the area around the problematic buttons using a soft, dry toothbrush. Ensure your console has the latest system update, If the console is already up to date, restart it by holding down the POWER Button for three seconds, and select "Power Options" > "Restart."

  • Take your game sessions up a notch with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
  • This controller includes many of the features found in the Joy-Con controllers: Motion controls, HD rumble, built-in amiibo functionality and more
  • Play anyone, any time, anywhere with the Nintendo Switch Pro-Controller
  • Compatible with the Nintendo Switch only

Great for about a year, then the control sticks become unusable. I've always sworn by nintendo build quality but have been incredibly disappointed by their hardware failure rate this generation.

I have the 8bit Pro controller that many say is "as good" as the official pro for £35 to £40. It isn't.
The official pro controller is definitely worth double what cheap 3rd party controllers offer, so £40 would be a definite buy.

£50 imo is still expensive, but if you are willing to pay a premium for "quality" (inherently subjective), it's an acceptable price. If all you care about is having a wireless controller that doesn't easily break and doesn't annoy you, stick to £30-40.

£50 on AO when available.

I know we're talking 59p but I'd use AO over curry's any day especially when they some how sent me 2 laptop bags instead of 2 speakers.

Sent me a monitor last week with an EU plug. Can't get through to them to replace so I've had to order a new one from Amazon. Probably tried for a total of 5 hours to get through to customer care. No option to email or webchat so it's like it or lump it.

Just get a cheapo adapter, not worth the hassle returning over a plug imo

Wouldn't it have been quicker to either change the plug yourself, buy a new plug (assuming it was a kettle or figure 8 lead) or use an adapter? lol

You can't change that kind of plug. What you can do though is order a C5 to UK plug from Amazon which I did. I was trying to get through to get my delivery refunded and a gesture of goodwill for the cable I had to buy.

No, not really. This controller is known for developing faults. I bought a third party one for less than a third of the price to replace this, an Xbox controller copy and it’s a million times better.

Most third party controllers would not have rumble. I believe this does.

People seem quite hooked up on rumble. Don't know why, does it really make that much of a difference? I have the Mario PDP controller which has no rumble and I think it's great and certainly don't think "well there's no rumble, I'm hardly experiencing the game properly". Some stuff needs it I guess, especially with the Switch party games, but overall, don't know why it matters?

Can't speak for others, but it is definitely more engaging and may help with certain games. For instance, catching fish in Animal Crossing (which I am currently hooked on), you'd have three sensory feedback loops - look, sound, and feel (via rumble), but if you play without rumble you're down to just two. And I'd argue that the tactile feedback actually really benefits the gameplay.
Pro is solid controller, just don't have analog triggers like ms/sony ones. All good tho as it can power up switch without me getting up, only pro can do this! 😁

I got it a year ago and it was cheaper then. But it’s been a great controller, has motion controls and everything except nfc. No problems with analog sticks and dpad like I had with the pro controller. Maybe a bit lightweight.

I really like my Pro Controller and appreciate the investment every time I use it.

I mainly leave my Switch docked so being able to wake it from the Pro is very handy.

Re. Animal Crossing I read it will use the notification light if it doesn't already.
Recommend the 8bitdo SN30+ over this when it drops to £35ish
To be honest i love the pro controller. Not gonna say its cheap, its not, but its battery life alone is so far ahead of virtually any other pad Ive used that alone is a game changer. 2 whole days easily without charging. The 40 hours battery life rated is no joke.
The fact it has NFC, Gyro, Rumble etc... only thing its missing is a headphone jack but of course thatd reduce the battery kife.
I’ve had one for about 6 months now,but does anyone find the left stick has a bit of “stickiness” to it. Not drift but it doesn’t return to default position on its own every time

should send it back to nintendo/retailer you got from for replacement, a years warranty right?
Can you use this on a PC with emulators, and the Mini consoles if you have the bluetooth adapter?

Heard some bad things about the pro controller so going to go for one of these instead considering its half the price.

Having said that I heard bad things about the xbox elite and yet mine has been great for two years

Headphone jack is a game changer for me. I dock the switch to the tv and i can't have headphones with it. I bought a playstation gold wireless headset with it, can you imagine? Pro is good but behind the game without the headphone jack.

Does the PS headset work with the switch?

Does the PS headset work with the switch?

Yes, you plug the usb dongle to the switch dock, and put the headset on. It is already linked so it automatically transmits the sound to the wireless headset.
There is also another way, you buy a usb-c wireless Bluetooth adapter. Search Gulikit on Amazon (currently £27). But this is only an adapter. You would also have to buy a Bluetooth headset (unless you have one) to connect to the adapter. It may end up costing more depending what you buy.

I also have a PS4 so I ended up buying the PS gold wireless headset in case I use it with PS.

I have the Gold one. So it stops audio coming from the TV and directs it from the Switch to the PS headset??
