Huh? It's still appearing as £54.85 for me.

Thanks for sharing this, OP!

Price has come back down now, however when I added it to the basket and tried to pay it wouldn't let me do it.not sure if to trust the site or not

Must resist. Will wait for the Xenoblade controller!

I've just bought a Switch in the Black Friday deal. What games would benefit from a pro controller, and how is it different from using the two joycons together as one game pad?

I don't think any games technically benefit from it, probably the opposite if anything.

But it's a well made controller that feels nice to hold and if you need 1 extra it's more convenient to use and cheaper than buying more joycons.

Two joycons on one pad works fine but it's a piecemeal solution and can feel quite clicky and creaky by comparison.

I think that the analogue sticks on the pro controller have a wider turning circle than the joycons so I actually prefer the joycons for quicker action games like Splatoon because they're more responsive and have used the pro for slower paced stuff to give the joycons a rest.

Is this shipped from within the UK?

Adroit or anyone else, looking at accessories i need to buy..

Just bought a switch for Xmas for my 2 sons, can you clarify if i need an extra controller for them to play 2 player games or can they use the 2 that came with the bundle?
Info is a bit mixed or maybe i just miss my Mega drive..
Do the controllers need to be wireless? where do the wired ones plug into?
Don't really want Santa leaving something that I need to run out on Boxing day and buy more things for..
Also can they play 2 player games in the car?
Thanks

It depends on the game, if you compare it to Mega Drive then any 2D style games will work with the bundled controllers. You can share a single screen in Rayman, take turns in Rabbids and the screen splits in Mario Kart. There are a lot more of these kind of games on the Nintendo eshop and several free demos that have 2 players with the included controller.

The more modern 3D games like Mario Odyssey need an extra controller so one player can move the character and camera at the same time. Splatoon needs a whole extra Switch because each player needs their own screen. 2 player Mario isn't really worth it, I don't think any of the bigger games justify buying an extra controller except maybe the Lego games.

Wired/wireless is just for convenience. Wired will be cheaper because they don't have extras like rumble or motion control. There are 2 USB ports on the Switch charging dock and a USB-C port under the Switch screen. Wired will plug in there as standard or with an adapter.

The only drawback to playing in the car is battery life and how they share the screen, it would have to stand or balance in the middle once the controllers are detached. Bundled controller is more portable in this situation too and I'd just keep an eye out for the pro controller at a reasonable cost for the option but there's no rush.

Adroit really appreciate the reviews.. We regularly do 1-2 hour car journeys so gonna buy a holder that secures between the 2 front seat headrests, I asked in Smyths and was told nah it won't work as the controllers need to attached..??
