The only place I can find it on at the moment! I know it will probably (scratch that- definitely) go cold, but it may help some people and that's all that matters.

Shouldn't be any more than £50 RRP and that's pushing it. Hardly a 'Pro' controller either.

I was going to try to reply with an argument to this but there are so many comments like it there really is point anymore.

Think Tesco will be getting this in, if so there's £10 off £75 or £5 off £40, might be worth holding off?

Is this automatic, or is there a code?

So glad I use my Switch as a handheld only. When you start adding pro controllers at £65 and docks at £80, it makes an already pricy console look uncompetitive against Xbox/PS.

The console comes with a dock so you don't need to add £80 for it. You can buy an extra one for £80 but it isn't necessary. It's important to keep a realistic narrative when it comes to price. Consoles are expensive things but I don't see the need to artificially inflate that cost just to make a point.

And controllers are an obscene price this generation right across the board. More than £30-£35 for a controller on any console is repugnant.

...repugnant.

What a wonderfully apt word!

Hardly artificially inflating (I did say "docks" plural) and if you really want to get picky, the pro controller is not necessary either as the console also comes with a DIY version. And I am being realistic. I'm a big Nintendo fan and I've been buying Switch stuff these past couple of months. It's pricy full stop. For that matter 3DS games seen to have gone up (£30-£40 for new releases). I'm sure it was £30 tops a year ago. Anyway, I'm also buying Xbox stuff for my son, and my point was the Xbox controllers and games are a lot cheaper for comparable items.

Still not convinced by your argument. A pro controller is necessary if you want extra players (a common expense on any console); an extra dock is not something that many will be looking to purchase as it's purely a luxury item - if you're going to include it in the mounting console costs then why not include screen protectors and skins for the console/controllers?

Consoles are expensive (as we've both said) but it's best to look at the realistic costs rather than lumping in everything that is available for a console. To lump everything in together is to provide a skewed interpretation of a console's total cost. And I'm not sticking up for Nintendo here, I'm saying that it's all too easy to create a false narrative about a console on sites like this. The Switch is brand new and so we're all having to pay brand new prices - it just means that we have to be more discerning when choosing games/accessories.

As for 3DS games, I think the apparent price increase is coming from retailers taking advantage of a console that's winding down to wring out a few extra pennies. I was looking at The Game Collection for some 3DS releases and baulked at the £35 price tag. But found the same games for £27/28 at Base. Games always hit a premium price at the beginning and the end of a console's life.

Console comes with 2 joycons which can be used as single controllers on every multiplayer game I've played. I agree an extra dock is completely unnecessary, don't understand why anyone would want 1.

As for the pro controller I've heard it is phenomenal. DLC podcasters were saying it is the best controller they have ever used. Even vs the £100+ premium controllers on current gen consoles. I'm certainly getting 1 as soon as it comes in stock at work so I get some discount

I did that too, but won't be selling my old one. My siblings have been complaining about the joy-cons disconnecting (something I never seem to have happen to me) so this should make them happier (though I will always be using the splatoon one as it's awesome)

Tesco Direct code that you apply, it's valid for a while still yet I think, at least until the start of next month?
