£19 for 5 new characters and 5 new stages? Seems a tad exorbitant

Are the 5 characters worth the cost?

Not as far as I'm concerned (sorry OP):Joker from Persona, The Hero from Dragon Quest, Banjo and Kazooie, Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury and Byleth from Fire Emblem. There's even a Figthers Pass 2 coming out..

You can be a fan and not think 5 characters is worth £20 ;

That is the full game

Ok thanks, was about to buy it, thinking it was the game

Shopto do have the full game for just under £47, which is the cheapest digital I have found

Worth half the price of a retail game?

No, no it’s not.

I was assuming that, but you never know
I love Smash but £19 for 5 characters doesn’t do it for me.
The Fighters Pass will depend on whether you like the characters in it very much or not; if you're not a fan of some of them and only one of them, then you can go for that one alone instead. For me I went for Byleth as I loved Fire Emblem: Three Houses so much. Didn't get a chance to play the games the other characters were in.

It's not just the character and stage you're paying for, quite an amount of the cost is also towards the music tracks actually; Joker from Persona 5 has 11 tracks, Hero from Dragon Quest has 8 tracks, Banjo & Kazooie has 10 tracks, Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury has a massive 50 tracks and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses has 11 tracks.

So i understand the cost, but I also understand why it'd turn many away; then again we've got 70+ fighters already so it's not like we're short on choice! We could do a lot worse though; for example Dead or Alive 6 is charging you just for changing a character's hair colour and you have to pay again if you want to change it back too. AND, its season pass has only two characters and some costumes for a extremely and extortionately mental £73.99, much more than the game itself.
