Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan is a love-letter to 8-bit action adventure games with challenging platformer gameplay and a huge number of Maya-inspired bosses.

You play as Sydney Hunter, adventurer supreme, who by sheer luck manages to get trapped inside a massive Maya pyramid. He soon discovers that the “Feathered Serpent” Kukulkan has broken up the sacred Haab calendar into seven individual pieces and has hidden them inside the very same pyramid!

Widespread chaos and a time freeze will certainly follow if the Haab calendar isn't located and put back together. With the support of the local Mayan population, Sydney Hunter must now find all seven pieces of the Haab calendar, defeat Kukulkan, and return peace and balance to the Mayan civilization.

Are you ready to beat the Curse of the Mayan?

"Retro-inspired 2D platformers simply don't get much better than Sydney Hunter so grab your whip and get ready for a great time." - 8/10 VideoChums

“Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan is a game that "excels but exceeds": as a game in itself it is excellent, and faithfully recreates the typical experience of a first-class NES game , but at the same time exaggerates with zeal with who does it. If Shovel Knight was the Federico Fellini who brought us back to the 8-bit era making it so palatable to please modern palates, Sydney Hunter is the Martin Scorsese who shows it for what it really was."
8/10 – icrewplay

"Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan has great playability, keeping things challenging and allowing you to re-challenge main bosses. It’s just a few glitches that hinder the gameplay and subtract from the experience, yet it still remains extraordinarily fun." - 8/10 Switch Player

100% this game. If you like the 8 bit era or retro gaming, this is one of the best hidden gems on switch
Out of the 3 years or so and all the beastly titles that have released on the switch, I have never wanted a game as bad as I do this right now and wish I had a switch. Does anyone know if I can purchase it and keep it for when I get a switch?

The account would need to be linked to a Switch for you to be able to buy it. If you have friends that will let you link your account to their Switch that is the only way.
It's a great game. If anyone needs tips for getting through the early stages I can give 'em.
