at RRP I only get it to approx. £430 so how can PC World say it should cost £629 ?

319 for switch, 100 for controller, 100 for Zelda and 100 for the starter kit, what a massive saving!

Firstly - you're

Secondly, ASDA have the console in stock, grey only but I picked mine up today.

£280 - switch
£60 - controller
£48 - Zelda
£14 - starter pack

Even at the standard prices they have added money on...

Cheeky sods... supply and demand and all that... but this is a bit like ticket touting... we have stock but we are saying we are out of stock but we have bundles that actually add up more to if you bought it all separately from us... but if you want it you pay us more than face value... nice business model... I wonder why they are struggling financially...

RRP is 415
PC world are deliberately misleading in this "offer" as they sell none of the items separately on their site, The switch RRP is 280 + 60 for zelda + 60 for the controller and 15 for the starter pack on the pc world site.
If anything there is a saving of £5
They are obviously overpricing stock to give the illusion of savings or a good deal to trick innocent consumers into thinking they are getting any kind of deal, sadly the OP fell for it as they didn't know the bundle wasn't worth the £630 pc world are claiming it to be.

my 3 locals certainly don't.

If anyone want's a neon one the best bet is probably to pre order at Amazon, they have stock arriving and you can have one delivered on the 14th April, if you find other stock before then just cancel.

Could set a new record for cold votes!

Does deliberately over pricing to imply discounts actually break any laws/make this worth contacting trading standards over, or is this just a really dirty marketing technique that most retailers avoid because anyone can google an RRP

Cold, it's a rip off for sure. PC World must not be able to attract enough gullible computer buyers so now looking for console buyers with more cash than sense.

TBH I don't think any Switch deals are much cop ATM, the Gameseek one was good (£198) but that's long gone. The smart move is wait till it has some more must buy games (possibly by the end of the year) and maybe try to get a good bundle deal then. If you need something for now get a Xbox One/PS4 which are both far cheaper and have much wider games libraries, which are also way cheaper....

Think the law is that the item must have been on sale at the higher price at some point for the discounted price to be advertised as a saving. Sports direct have been done for this loads of times.

this will be sold out by the end of the day so don't bother, they had this same offer in Curys (same company) a few days ago and it sold out reasonably quickly.

The reason they do this is because it is either becoming discontinued or is going to be part of a package deal where it comes free or heavily discounted. I know this from working there a few years back. Often TV stands will scan through the till at £999.99 then a week later you get the same stand for free with certain tv packages.

I saw it in stock at Smyths. £319 for console and Zelda. Or £309 for Switch and Bomberman or 1,2 Switch.

Why please delete??? Some deals go cold.... all part of the fun of HUKD

I never said your local had them in stock Just go on the website and reserve for collection tomorrow. Should work fine. Grey only though, sounds like you wanted neon.

In terms of the price etc combined it isn't bad...just a shame PC World went with such a crazy made up saving!

true, if you're buying a pro controller with your Switch then you'll most likely be buying Zelda, buy with your head and not your heart and its not too bad, although quite a few retailers are announcing stock, Game have just gotten stock of the Neon and Smythes say they're due in 10th to the 14th.

Go wild oO

i've never seen an offer get so cold. Might nip to Iceland..

If you do a bit of digging, the search box gives you their prices for the items individually --> get ready...

They've priced the Switch on it's own at £499.99

Pro Controller £64.99
Zelda £49.99
Switch Starter Kit £14.97

Switch £280 (oos of course but this is the RRP and you can find it other places as mentioned)
amazon.co.uk/Nin…tch

botw £48
amazon.co.uk/Leg…tch

pro pad £60
amazon.co.uk/Nin…tch

Venom starter £15 (probably better ones available when you arent forced to buy that bundle though)

amazon.co.uk/Ven…ter

Rounding those prices up to whole numbers on amazon this just comes up to £403, even ignoring the lies about there being any kind of saving, you can get the exact same bundle cheaper in other places.

Where in the world...

Another day, another sizzling hot Switch deal!

pokedude4

It's nothing personal dude. Just consider this a learning experience :D.

I managed to get my switch for £269.99 through Amazon with a £10 off code. They ended up messing my order up and never got delivered... For this I managed to get £30 gift card credit, which I used on a pro controller (paid £29.99).

I then bought the deal from Zavvi for a Neon Switch and Zelda for £310 using a code.

So £339.99 all out, without having to buy the rubbish starter set.

I've also got Mario Kart 8 deluxe pre ordered at £28 from using the £10 code again.

I also bought a second Neon Switch for £269.99 at Zavvi using a code. (Was going to keep it but came to my senses and sold it to CEX for £300). So that has paid for my Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

So my point is, a bit of shopping around and the Switch is still expensive! However it's worth it for handheld Zelda BOTW alone.

What of those who don't care for Zelda games?

Then currently there is absolutely no point having a Switch at the moment.

Well, didn't the OP do well

This 100%. Big as Zelda is there will always be some who just have no interest in the genre. Nintendo were crazy IMHO to release the console with just one must have game (I don't really think much of a case can be made for Bomberman or 1 2 Switch), especially when they could have postponed the launch till they had MK8 and Splatoon ready which would have given options for those that don't play RPGs. Considering they are only enhanced Wii U ports I doubt it would have delayed things much either....

Yes, they get fined several times a year, sadly they make more from this kind of sale then the fines will ever cost them....

Precisely. The Zelda franchise, while popular, isn't Nintendo's most popular franchise by a long shot. Mario Kart followed by Super Mario Bros. have been their most commercially successful franchises for some time now.

The direction taken with the latest Zelda game might narrow the gap, though. Making it more like Skyrim with an added sprinkling of Dark Souls-lite should broaden the franchise's appeal beyond the Nintendo crowd so that was smart business by Nintendo.

Hilarious!
