Feels like a decent price here for the console which still holds its own especially with all the mods you can do etc.

Plenty of stock around when posting, might not be a bad idea to pick from store - as I do with most preowned (preloved? ) items, coz it allows me to inspect them and be happy before buying.

I assume this only comes with one wiimote, so you'll need to add another £15 if you want an extra one (based on the price of a used one from Cex). At that point you're spending £40 for a Wii with no box and no games so it's definitely worth checking if you'll get more for your money from a local ebay or gumtree seller (accepting that you'll be forgoing the warranty). If you do go for one from Cex I'd strongly advise buying from a store as the condition of these varies greatly.

The Wii is pretty much the emulator go to for many. Pretty simple to soft-mod. Ton of info online and YouTube.

Plus Wii is backwards compatible for GameCube (with controller slots) so added bonus of that already. (Which can also be modded so GC games can run off SD/USB so added added bonus)

Do you still need a copy of Lego Indiana Jones to flash these? Made me laugh seeing them go for £70 on ebay so people could add in home brew emulators

Also got one from Cash convertors for £15 with Wii Sports as someone else mentioned. Mine had Mario Kart in the disc drive too which was a bonus!

Nah just an sd card nowadays. Although I wouldn't recommend buying one, I did this about a year ago, 2 weeks later it was in a cupboard
The Mario Galaxy games need porting to the Switch like they did on the Chinese Nvidia shield. Apparently they play great without the motion controls.
Easy money for Ninty

That would be an absolute dream. Some of the best games of all time. Odyssey is great, but I prefer the linear level system of the galaxy games.

Same here, thought £15 was the going rate for these. And I think I got a 2nd game included (although the choice was appalling)
Bought one for the kids this Xmas. With little ones this is about the best console you can have. Playing a lot of Mario party with 4 controllers.

And with wii hdmi converter is actually quite good on my 4k LG TV.

Buy a wii2hdmi

Have one but have the annoying scan looking lines running down the screen

Apart from that it works decent enough
These are great for modding. Kids still play theirs most days. Buy a component cable or hdmi lead and it improves the graphics significantly over the standard scart lead.
Got over 50 GameCube and Wii games on ours, a lot of them haven't been played yet and all run off a USB stick in the back, so no discs to lose.
I still prefer mario kart over the switch version.
In fact the motion control seems so much more intuitive on these Vs the diddy switch controllers.
Main problem is sourcing decent GameCube controllers though, the knock off ones are terrible. And don't think about getting a non official wiimote, I've yet to find one that works properly....
Is this even that cheap? I thought it had been cheaper than this numerous times in the past

Apparently is TV brand specific

But I tested around 6 different TVs and all had the same issue
Hardly a deal, this has been the standard price for years now.
if you can wait a few months for the boot sale season to start up again, these are ~£10 usually with controllers & games standard price at carboot sales

Dude all games are free
If you’re going to buy used, why not scout places like eBay etc where you get games too? I don’t see how used items can be classed as hot deals. Yes, it’s cheaper than buying new, but it isn’t cheaper than you can get these used. This isn’t a deal for a used machine.
We’ve all the modern consoles, and we play our modded wii the most out of all of them. We stuck a 2tb hdd behind the tv and got a wii to hd connector off eBay for about £5. I hand picked the best 100 games from both GameCube and Wii and we’ve been working through them. My wife plays Animal Crossing every day and atm I’m playing Super Paper Mario

It's actually 480p maximum native resolution when used with the component cable. Sarcasm aside tho it's actually a very playable console and most games look good enough even with 480p resolution.

Not any more.
If you’re after modding , the Wii U is the perfect console. Usual see them at £50 online and in second hand shops, but it’s worth the extra to be able to download and play things like Mario kart 8 and Zelda BOTW as well as all the classic console games. HDMI out and the game pad has a great little screen.
Time to make a Mii

Make sure you are using a decent hdmi cable, definitely not one supplied with the unit (if you got one free that is). I used a decent cable and solved that issue!
I've got a chipped Wii with loads of games. Don't play it but for what's it's worth I'm better of keeping it.

Wasn't it the early models that were BC? AFAIK they're great for emulating Nintendo stuff (shocker ) like N64 which a lot of other devices struggle with.
What is mod

Using a super expensive hdmi cable didn't sort the lines issue on mine.

And the telly was a few thousand £.
