I got a Switch which my daughter turned into a handheld Fortnite machine so I've had practically no chance to get on Breath of the Wild.
Picked up a WII U last month for about £50, been well impressed by it so far (botw still plays great on it). There isn't a great deal of titles on it however some are well worth investing time in (the Mario exclusives and Windwaker/Twilight Princess HD, Bayonetta2, Wonderful101, Smash Bros, Yoshi, Kirby etc) plus most of the games are cheap if you can find them.

PS The word for the day is mocha
Doesn't really look better. The game is identical just a few spots where FPS is a bit higher on switch. If you have a WiiU it isn't worth changing for switch version basically.

And no the gamepad can not be used independently of the bar console, range is around 5 metres if taking walls into account.

Cracking deal £111 will get you the Wii U, MK8, Mario+Luigi Bro U, Nintendoland, and Mario Maker.....a complete steal........and no pay to play MK8 online, it would cost you 3 times that just to play MK8 on the switch.

What condition will this be in?
I'm always tempted until I remember the games were mostly rubbish.
If I got one of these to play Zelda only, is it the same as the switch....or does the switch support a superior version of the game?

Switch has better frame rate for Zelda. Not perfect but better.

A bit better I'd say but not a deal breaker
So it's the same game, just looks slightly better with the switch?

2nd question....can I take the handheld unit with me and play the game anywhere, or does it need to be paired up with a console?

(sorry for the dumb questions!)

I think he's talking about the handheld unit. So yeah he can play it away from the dock..

Same/cheaper price at CeX
^^I thought this was CEX. lol

Yeah grab all that from CEX instead, means you can go into the shop and inspect the console first hand.

There were a lot of great first party titles, most of which were ported to the Switch, the main reason ?I was late buying a Switch was because I had most of the titles I wanted on the Wii U.
All the best games from the first two years of the Switch, are all on the Wii U. Plenty of amazing games, still great, and very cheap. You'll get plenty of gameplay, still
I still love this console, it just had the wrong people promoting it from the start
I still play mine now and pick games up regularly also, and plays Wii games to boot.
Bag it before it becomes a modern classic like the GameCube
If you need it for Wii U and Wii games then it's a really useful console to have. If you only need it for Wii U games then not so much.
Worth it for Mario 3D World alone. The best Mario game ever in my opinion.

Is the wii u download centre still working? Affordable space adventure sounds great.

There's a huge back catalogue of Wii and GameCube games as well though, complete with gamepad support (pic is from last year, I have more on now).

I don’t know if modding is acceptable talk in the forum, but, as someone else said mocha I’ll
Say Haxchi. You can have the best parts of Wii u and with a modded vWii, you get the best of the Wii plus plenty your typical emulators, and it’s really really easy to do. would I pay £80? The Console’s on their own regularly go for around 30 on eBay and gamepads around 50. If you don’t like it, then you’re not gonna lose a lot. SD card and ideally external hard drive required if interested in above methods.
Can you use wiimotes with backward compatible games?
Just worried about the condition it will arrive in! Might be better to find a decent seller on ebay

Better off with a Pstv in my opinion. I have both and find WiiU a bit clunky for emu, probably doing something wrong though

Each to their own, I find it it great for nes, SNES, Sega Wii and GameCube. I haven’t tried the others as i read they were a little clunky. We’re spoilt for emulation choice these days, this is just another and I’ve never used pstv
I love the Wii U. Still play on mine and what's great is you can play Wii light gun games on it either with a sensor bar or with the inbuilt sensor on the Gamepad

All depends on previous owner.

Yes you can. That's best thing about it. Playing wii games via hdmi

2x1tb and a 32 as card. You ideally need one for WiiU and one for vWii. There may be a work around now. You could probably get away with 2x512 Gb hard drives

Where do you get it with the games?
Just pop into your local CEX and then grab the games there to, but you can also go to the CEX website first, stick in your post code and pick in stock, and see what stock your local CEX has ready for grabbing.

poor frame rate was so noticeable.

You don't need to touch vWii, I've never even booted it and have Wii and GameCube games, you can inject them to Wii U virtual console games now with an easy tool, launch from the wii u menu wiry gamepad support all off a single hard drive, o different drives for each thing.
