Amazon have a pre order price of the Wii U Console of £199.99

They dont take anything until dispatch and its a price promise so if increased you dont pay anymore or if it decreases you will pay less so might aswell take a punt and pre order it

THINKING OF TAKING THEM TO COURT OVER THIS - RIDICULOUSNESS.

Now this is a more reasonable price. Gonna have this on pre-order and then decide later to keep it or not. Hopefully the price drops even further.

Heat added!
July 14th release date? Seems a bit early!
Now we are talking!
Still not interested in the games but the price is reasonable!
Heated.

If price goes up, are you sure they won't cancel?

This doesn't seem like a gross misprice so I don't see why they would cancel. Worth a go!
Ordered.

At the moment I have no interest in the Wii U. But if I change my mine I have it pre ordered if I still don't want it I will sell it (if Amazon don't cancel it.
likely to be an error, great deal though!
Ordered, cheers.
The console doesn't even have an rrp yet. How is this a deal?

Its a deal as this is the best price as of yet and you can actually pre-order it

Other pre-orders are in the region of £280 and RRP may be that price so could get a decent deal from Amazon if they honour.

This is very likely a place-holder, due to the release date listed. I'd be gobsmacked if they were really selling them for £200, the Wii U game pad alone must cost a fair bit.
Interesting find, never-the-less.

Because the rrp is unlikely to be lower. it will in fact probably be higher. If it's lower u pay less if its higher you dont pay anymore and you can cancel for FREE. you can't lose. that's why it's a deal.
Also just like to point out THIS IS FOR THE BLACK WII U. the white one can't be preordered yet, which is a bit weird, wouldve thought white would be default.

Order now, ask questions later

Heat added. Pre-ordered one just incase I decide to get one on release.
I remember the "The Old Republic" Pre-order fiasco. They had it on pre-order for £10 over a year in advance and cancelled everyones order and hiked the price up to £35+

Nods, wiiU controllers must be in the region of £50 (Im expecting near £60, will be surprised if they are are £45 or below), ordered one just incase it does get honoured, I remember getting the wii first week of release and straight swapping for a 360 with games mwhahahah.
looks like the same tat everybody was gushing over back in 2006
Someone tagged it as black by a customer, doesn't mean that it is.
wasn't interested but at that price, i could be
Amazon have been a bit cunning tho, pre-order is only for the black version, not the white. No guarantee a black version will be released.
Yeah, enviroboy, not like that's the unit they've been demoing...

thought I'd heard confirmed same release date on IGN/E3 but must have been wrong, that gives you longer to cancel or the price to change in theory though....
Is this just the console or do you get a controller with it?

They'll charge when it goes for dispatch. You have right up until then to cancel free

Console comes with one gamepad
when do you have to pay for it
I think they will release a black version at launch - the black Wii was meant to be limited edition but must have been selling well leading them to keep producing it.
Seems like they listened to Micheal Pachter then.
Seems high for last gen tech? Not as much power as 360 or ps3 so would have expected more 180 ish?

I'm sure extra pads will cost a premium (£40-£50), but the components involved in manufacture will be off the shelf and dirt cheap.
I think £199 is a realistic (and sensible) price for launch.
my wii is sitting in my living room collecting dust but i might get some use out of the WiiU for the year it should have on the PS4 and the xbox 365/720/whatevertheyarecallingit.

also most games will ever use one or two of the new tablet pads.

Well I remember the PS Vita games pre-order deal when they ended up shipping them all out and I ended up getting 4 Vita games for like £28

Amazon is worth the punt even for misprices. Though I do think this will be the price for Wii U anyway. I don't think Nintendo could get away with charging much more for just the console and tablet.
really tempted at this price
