Probably be £99 this time next year. Probably have an official price drop of £149.99 in a few weeks.

oh look.

Now that Amazon have price matched Argos you can Flubit to get a better price. At least £5 I'de estimate.

NO games? You must be trolling, because the Wii U has alot more games than the Ps4/Xb1 possibly even more games when you combine the other 2 platforms together at the moment.... Wii U Games

But alas people only care about specs these days and not having fun.........

r u kidding me? windwaker hd, wonderful 101, pikmin 3, super mario u, luigi u, super mario 3d world, zombiu, monster hunter 3, splinter cell, AC3 & 4, arkham origins.

This is a great console and am having loads of fun with it.

Plenty of good games to be played on this console!

May not have the best power but its the most playable console ive probably ever owned. Who cares how well it sells? I certainly dont

Been telling myself to wait for a Mario Kart bundle but I could well be swayed here. NY resolution was to stay away from Amazon but argos have no stock.

Well you should, if it's to be the Dreamcast Mk2, there's no future for the thing!

Seems to be the new rrp price

That would be my guess too. At least until something official is announced. Right now the RRP is £239.99 and its retailers who knock off some of the cost, if the official RRP gets reduced to £199.99 then retailers may be able to knock another £40 off IF they choose to sell at a loss (Because I think they are). Something like £179.99 will be the common price for the Premium and maybe £149.99 for the Basic with no game. With a few games (Like the Mario bundles) I'de expect to see those at £189.99- £199.99 regularly (Not just when on sale). Estimate the Basic with game to sell for £159.99 - £169.99 depending on the price drop.

All very reasonable and realistic price I say. Have to wait till the 30th to find out though. Still its not a bad price to buy now.

PS3 and Xbox 360 have been out 7/8years and have only just reached those Prices, or there abouts. You are likely to wait just as long for those prices. So you are going to wait 6+ years to save two hundred odd quid?

Well considering it's been out for a year longer, it should have.

First party wise there will be...and that's all people usually buy for Nintendo platforms anyway.

Nintendo will support it for another 3 years at least...same as they did the Gamecube despite its poor sales (which had some of the highest rated games of the generation).

Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, X and the next Zelda alone are worth £180 of anybody's money.

...and the Dreamcast was an amazing console with some superb games..sadly ignored due to the hype of other machines. it sold a fraction of what it should have given the quality of games on the platform. If Wii U is Dreamcast 2 ....that's a good thing when it comes to quality software..if not sales.

It has games but they're not that great. Same old franchises and a PS3 is cheaper and multiplatform games are clearly better on the PS3.

Most of the Wii U's better games have an equivalent on the 3DS. The software sales suck and Nintendo will have no option to lower the price to £150 at least.

£149.99 for just the basic console is not a massive stretch. That is a good price. If your expecting 1 or two big games included however then the wait will be long. I just had a funny thought as to why people should considering buying now though. If the price is dropped and by a large margin then owners who bought and registered before the price cut may get some free games. Just like with 3DS.

I ended up getting 10 NES and 10 GBA games. Something like that on Wii U could be very tasty.....

It's funny how (from what I can gather) PS/XB gamers love to come on Nintendo threads and troll...whereas it's not the same the other way round...

Unless I'm mistaken adr0ck was being sarcastic/ironic there in response to revzman(who posted the same crap in virtually every single wii u deal thread).

Software attach rate is actually extremely high. 2.8m units with 19m software means the average Wii U owner has 6 games. Pretty impressive.

EDIT: The games are not that great??? Wash your mouth with soap!

You do realise PS/XB also have the same old franchises making the rounds with every new console release...you'll get uncharted, killzone, cod, bf etc making new glitzy appearances...they've re-released tomb raider with improved graphics...with Nintendo mario, zelda etc games, they take on a new storyline and look to them...

Ok! i haven't got my sacasm radar on today

Love my Wii U. My most played console of 2013. Loads of great games (first party, third party and on eShop) and Off-TV play is superb.

Can't wait for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze next month!

Anyone waiting for it to be around the £99 Mark, let me help you out.It won't happen !

If anyone misguidedly thinks the Wii U has no games, look at how many first-party games Microsoft are releasing on Xbox One this year.

Nintendo shareholders do though and suspect 3rd party suppliers do as well hence they will start choking off game development.

Having said that the console is still probably worth it for the existing titles and the prospect of a new Zelda, MarioKart and Smash Brothers. But I would expect the supply of quality non-Ninty games to dry up quite soon.
