Price just keeps on dropping on this baby...

Fantastic price, I really enjoyed Wii Sports Resort. Hot.

coz of the black ones

Saving up for the Microsoft Kinect

Have no stock of the White version at Chester, the price was £122 inclusive of VAT.

They did however offer me a Black console for £164, but no way I was parting with an extra 40 odd quid for a different colour :x

Why bother its terrible. You can get the whole wii package at costco for less than the awful kinect device. 150ms input lag, you practically have to stand for most games. Its so unbelievably dire. At least wait a while, Microsoft are probably just shafting early adopters and the price will fall quite quickly. Make sure you try before buying.

I don't think there's a basis for your arguments, there. Although I agree with try before buying (should be easily done, I bet there will be plenty of stores with Kinect demos shortly before Christmas) and I suspect that the input lag issue will be resolved in a future Kinect version.

However.

As a competitor to Wii Sports, Kinect simply blows it away. Face and body recognition, voice recognition, gestures for media, controller-less sports and games - all fare better on Kinect than the Wii. It remains to be seen if Kinect will be any good for "hard core" games, but I don't suppose that's the target market at all. During the Microsoft demo they only showed one game that could be considered "hard core", and that was Forza 3. I cannot imagine that would be much fun at all with the lag, but we'll see.
