About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Proper awesome freebie for NHS from Nissan. And I do mean awesome. I genuinely think this is the most excellent of 'offers' that I've seen any merchant do for the amazing NHS.
Right now the easiest way to get to work is by car. If you’re a NHS worker, some of our dealerships can now loan you a vehicle for free.

If you think our scheme could help you, please register through this page. If we can make a vehicle available for you, a dealership will be in touch with you. Once they have handed over your vehicle, all you have to do is cover the cost of fuel or charging. For an electric car that’s about 2p a mile. But participating dealerships will happily charge these for you for free.
We can’t thank NHS workers enough for all that they’re doing right now. But if borrowing a car means that just one person on the frontline can avoid public transport, or get to the supermarket that little bit more easily, we’ll be glad to have helped.
If you don’t work for the NHS, but know someone who may benefit from this scheme, please share this page with them.
The only restriction I can see is "Unfortunately, due to insurance requirements, this scheme is only open to NHS staff that are over the age of 25 with less than 6 points on their driving license." And obviously, you need a NHS ID number to be eligible.

sorted byDaisy; firstly I need to say that I (and I know I am not alone saying this) have always thought NHS staff to be the most amazing of human beings; and even moreso now. There hasn't been a word invented yet though that describes the love and sheer amazement we have for you.
Secondly, I read and read again and read again the Ts and Cs. I kept thinking I missed something, but I don't think I have. I think Nissan have just done something which is just bang on and thoughtful and generous.
I know what you mean about 'free pizza'; yeah, they are great but like you say, transport and your feet.
Get a good nights sleep. Sounds like you need it. But I think I speak for the whole UK when I say we are in total awe of you. (edited)
Don't worry too much about the terms, that other poster was being an idiot.
Nissan are one of the largest car manufacturers in the World, they don't rely on scamming nurses to make a few quid.
They are probably just loaning out all of their dealership's courtesy cars, they will be parked up doing nothing anyway.
Like me, I can't believe this deal has arrived, I've been so stressed. Trying to find someone to recover my car, and yet hiding that I'm a frontline worker - not wanting any flamboyant gestures from people to try and garner advertising or likes on the back of what I do. I am worried about being able to source a new car. (edited)
Maybe not say you crashed yours
Andy you have just made me cry in the most amazing way. You've broken through my "nurse face" where you deal with your emotions. You did what I was trying to do in terms of seeing if there was anything I should be wary of.
It feels awkward to think you are writing about me and my colleagues, for what we just get up and go to work and do. You are right in realising that I'm exhausted, emotionally and mentally yet still problem solving to get back to work for my patients and colleagues - also feeling guilty as it was my fault. Something slipped off the dash and I just reacted to catch it. Just leaving work and still on high alert.
On a lighter note I ended up putting my sunglasses on as a place to put them, wearing ppe all day, you get used to wearing goggles, I must have looked a bit strange stood there at night with them on! I think I just need a massive cuddle but being alone it's not going to happen.
I should go to bed and stop over sharing...
Thank you Andy xx
Thank you so much, to be worried about getting back to work along with everything else does get too much. I was fine yesterday but a bit tearful today. The juxtaposition of needing to be saved myself. So lucky I'm not on shift for a few days and they may deliver in 24 hours. Will need to ensure the fine print is not going to plunge me into deeper water!
yes I've read it. I'm a bit overwhelmed to be honest. I'm currently trying to find work shoes as well. I don't want free pizza or any of the other things offered (not ungrateful) but shoes to do my job and wheels to get there.
So tired and trying to read the t's and c's and a touch wary.
But you'll take the time to read and comment in a thread about a car you have no interest in.
Oh come on !!
HOW LONG CAN I KEEP THE CAR FOR?
You can keep the vehicle for as long as you require it during the Covid-19 situation. Our priority is to ensure that you have a reliable means of transport so that you can undertake your frontline duties that we all rely on! Therefore, you are welcome to keep the loan car whilst the Government lockdown is in place.
Why should you have to wear worn out ones to work? Let me know what shoes you would like and they’re on me.
It would appear you feel we are all contaminated? with Covid-19 perhaps? Do you deep clean everything you come into contact with? The post you open? the door handle you used? food packaging? If you believe this is the case, I could direct you to some educational data readily available to the general public.
I don't see the word "perhaps" in my comment at all actually. "perhaps" you mean "hopefully"?
It's not an easy time, however learning facts could help your view/opinions in a positive way for all.. x (edited)
I haven't really done my bit for the NHS yet, if you want to PM me your email address I'll PayPal the money for your shoes if it helps
The list goes on and on though, supermarket staff, refuse collectors, Police and Fire Fighters...
It's probably reasonable to say that doctors and nurses are more directly responsible for saving lives.
Can't seem to see where are you reading that, you got a screenshot?
I can't find another pair as the shops are closed. I'm having to order pairs and send them back, it's costly and irritating but such is life. they've got to be so comfy as your feet ache anyway. I need leather shoes and you can wear through a pair in a few months. They take a lot wear fast, and sometimes you simply have to throw them if they get certain things on. You should see me if there is a chance of a big nasty spill - I'm like River-dance on fast forward
Thank you so much, it's the second offer of shoes I've had tonight I'm feeling so loved and cared for xxx (edited)
Yep, they are at risk, however sometimes I'd rather be responsible for someones shopping, than their life.
It looks as though it's until the Government relaxes the lock-down, so hopefully you'll be able to stay 'on the road'. Best wishes to you and all your colleagues throughout the NHS.
Awww, haha, not at all
I quite like the idea of being your official shoe sponsor, and I don't even ask that you plaster my name all over them
Seriously, I don't mind helping at all, if you'd like some help then please just send your PayPal address, I totally appreciate if you'd prefer not to, I'm not offended either way, honestly.
And care workers who have been totally pushed to one side and ignored for the past 4 weeks, care workers are as important as nurses and doctors they deliver exactly the same service care as NHS but yet totally forgotten by everyone! Clap for carers!
Yes and some very derogatory comments too. Both my son and wife are in the NHS on the front line and I am very proud of them both
No problem, it’s the least people could do. Drop me a private message with your bank details or paypal email and how much a decent pair will likely set you back
I think you’ll find the vast majority of nhs doctors and nurses are pretty meticulous about personal hygiene seeing as we are in contact with confirmed virus patients daily and then we have to go home to our families and we are petrified of the thought of infecting people at home.
The virus is only contagious if in contact with your mucous membranes, namely oral and nasal. Eye transmission has been unproven in most studies. It usually transmitted when people touch their mouth and nose after touching infected surfaces, or from aerosol produced when people talk, spit or sneeze when in close contact or redistributed by air distribution systems.
Testing is indeed a farce, more because the tests aren’t particularly sensitive or specific. We are testing people multiple times in hospital with nasal swabs which are often coming back negative, but when ct scanning their chest they have horrible effects of the covid-19 disease. Good testing will be important once social distancing measures are relaxed. Currently with the distancing testing isn’t that relevant for the public as you shouldn’t be in contact with others anyway!
In terms of cleaning the cars, the best thing to do is for Nissan to wait for a week after the cars have been returned, by that time all the virus particles will have died anyway, so not going to put others at risk, and can then clean as normal.
Just my 2 pence.
