Will it even move with a 1.2 petrol engine in a large'ish car or is it just some sort of ornament or maybe outside storage?

Hello. Yeah they move its 1.2 turbo, 115 BHP so about what you got from the last generation of 1.6 16V 4 cylinder engines.

Its really even better then that b/c of the torque of the turbo means it handles full loads well.

It has the better pulling power in gear.

For most Brits this is going to be a perfect step progression from their normal 120'ish BHP engine.

Whether its a good deal is up to some serious market appraisal's! We all know the that things are jiggery in the markets right now and I would suspect that most pre reg discounts are being done to secure sales for the dealers as they are worried about the next 6 months (Brexit or not, things are not in a good shape).

The OP has not done a good job of putting the right details in to the post though nor explain why, in there own words this is a good deal....

I could lease a better car cheaper than £290 a month for three years. I wouldn't own it, but then i wouldnt own this unless i pay £11000... so i genuinely don't see why anyone would choose this way of getting a new car?

Drive it and love it, plenty of power to because of fuel injection.
Not sure if good lease deal but small turbo petrol are the way forward. All major car manufacturers are now looking at these as alternative to the killer diesels that have been so popular. With car tax review next year things are-a-changing.

Should get more fuel efficient going forward too. At the moment they are tuned for cO2 emissions but with the changes there is no longer the same incentive.
