Basic premise of a credit card is that you make at least the monthly minimum payments to help pay back the balance over a period of time.

If for example you forgot to setup a direct debit and forgot to make the monthly minimum payment, then you would lose the promo rate and incur default fees and interest.

If you don't get the full offer (i.e. 0% for 29 months), are you told before you go fully through with the application and get the card, or is the card going to be sent with a lower offer?
any other offers than halifax? I have halifax balance to transfer from.
I'm new to all this credit card stuff never bothered with them really but do you have to pay an annual fee with this one?

It is possible that you have not been offered the best rate. See the second point below (taken from the Halifax web page):

- At least 51% of customers will receive the best rate for this card.

- Other customers may be offered: 0% interest on balance transfers for the first 18 months, with a 3% balance transfer fee and 0% interest on purchases for the first 9 months, at a rate of 27.9% APR (variable).
Anyone know, Can you still get this deal if you already have the halifax credit card or is it new customers only?
Thanks just took this out, 29 months with no transfer fees, I have an AA credit card with promotions ending in April, so was about to start looking what was out there. Saved me a job OP
Thank you so much chanchi. You've struck again. Your deals personally have helped me so much, I have bought mostly from your deals alone from this site! Lol

A few questions if I may....

We are currently in the process of buying a house, dependant on when the sale goes through (its in hands of both solicitors) depends whether I'll need to use my credit card. (Highly likely) to pay legal fees and then therefore transfer the balance to this account.

This Halifax credit card have offered me £1500 total. If I transferred £1000 onto this card from a different Credit card: how does this help me? Because the interest pay back for the 20+ months is free? I just want to make sure as it sounds fantastic. If this is the case I may max it then set a direct debit to cover it for the period (essentially interest free loan) and use it to possibly pay towards my car payments which are stupid Apr.

I think my current credit card is 39% Apr.

Excuse the stupid questions, I've only ever had 1 credit card and hardly used it.

My application said they needed todo a few more checks before being offered. But it offered me the 0% fee for 29months. That's the card I'm applying for as I had to tick a box to say that. One would assume it must be that card.

I feel if you don't get the full offer then it will tell you what you get before you have to submit, hence tick the box.

I think you didn't fully qualify for the offer based on your circumstances/credit rating

No for this specific introductory card if you qualify for it. Unsure if you would have to if you didn't qualify (due to credit rating) and it offered you a less attractive one

100% you cannot transfer from a different halifax card to this card. Unsure if you could still get this card if you already have a Halifax card.
Is there a maximum amount you can transfer, thanks.

Not that I could see. It sets your limit dependant upon credit score/income etc.

Let’s say you have a barclaycard that you used for purchases. You brought a few things and pay it off bit by bit. Unless you’re on a promo rate, barclaycard will charge an interest rate. If you got this or any other balance transfer card, you can shift debt from one card to another and not have to pay any interest, and is usually set for a certain amount of time.

YouTube Balance Transfers or google it. It could save you some money if you have credit card debt.

No problem - sorry for the late reply wasnt feeling too well yesterday

So providing you are accepted for the card and offer - you have 0% on balance transfers for 29 months within 90 days of account opening. So if you have a balance on another credit card you could transfer this balance over to the 0%. You still need to pay at least the monthly min payment to ensure you keep the promo rate.

Amazing.

So an interest free loan for 29 months basically?

Yes they've informed me I need to provide 2 forms of ID in my local Halifax bank. I'm currrently sitting in there as a type waiting for a customer service person.

Can I just say - I was considering taking out a LOAN due to circumstances around having to borrow quite a bit. I am so happy I didn't and I am so happy, again, that you posted this deal.

So thank you from me and my daughter (for her Argos wardrobe/chest of drawers set) you posted a few months ago, and thank you from my missus as it's sorted our finances with this CC and she doesn't have to moan as much.
