Heat! Been interested in this for a while. Is PS plus necessary to play?

Not for single player, it's only needed for online multiplayer
Picked it up in a charity shop for a fiver, pretty groovy in VR once you get passed the boring tutorial

Must pick this up again - I got bored by the tutorial, it went on forever!
I have this game. Played it for two days and couldn’t make sense of it so I gave up. Perhaps I’m just a bit daft!

Daft..not at all, its just a novelty game, your actually missing nothing worth worrying about. Try instead: Elite Dangerous/Star Citizen.

I've only played it for a couple of days, but I've found it to be a slow starter. Once you've started the space exploration bit, it's pretty good. The thing I've found is that the vastness is both it's strength and it's weakness; I found the game feels very sparse and isolating so far.

Still enjoying it though, and there seems to be a lot of layers and complexity to it. Saying that I can definitely see why it's a bit of a marmite thing!

Have you played both of those? I've been considering getting them but wasn't sure.

That's a yes to ''Elite Dangerous'', much luved by the masses, an easily accessible game for the novice, with depth and good combat, cheap as chips if you shop around. Haven't yet had the time to invest in ''Star Citizen'', its a mammoth undertaking that's really something special, if you have a decent PC, then this is the one, has the eye candy to match, there isn't anything to touch it at the moment, very slick indeed.
4p discount?

Erm, I wouldn’t say ED was easily accessible for the novice - quite the opposite. ED is a big commitment, rewarding but it’s a hard, difficult climb. Everspace is easily accessible assuming combat focus with a bit of story is a requirement, if not then possibly Rebel Galaxy is worth a look but IMHO ED (it IS super) is not pick up and play.

There are a lot of gamer's enjoying it at all levels, it does require a level of commitment, but there are plenty of tutorials for the beginner, small steps. There's always...No Man's Sky: Beyond.
