agreed, worth playing for this price. heat.

I bought this after my son picked it up. £19.99 was worth a punt and I really enjoyed it. You just have to be patient with it. Its very similar to the old Elite game on the Com 64 and Sinclair Spectrum I thought.

Will bite when it hits the £10 mark.

No, oh no, no, no, no etc.

I've played a lot of early access games, there are so many better titles with so much more content for where they are in their development.
With the foundation update you can at most say no man's sky is in alpha stage now instead of it's pre alpha release. At most it's value now is £8 for it's content.
The biggest difference in other early access games is they are honest about where they are in development, they don't pretend to be finished when they release them - because of that I know a lot of people who will always value NMS as worthless based on the value of integrity, that aside I still value the content of this game as sub par for a release, even one pretending to be a 'finished' game. If it were honest about it being in early access/alph I would still say £20 or even £15 is a bit steep, could bite at £10, but I stick with my value of £8. That's the most I would pay for it now were it on steam, where all the other early access games seem to be.

A great example of an early access game with content is called subnautica, go play that instead and just continue happily pretending No man's sky doesn't exist for another year or two while they finish making the game, because until it's finished why bother pretending the demo is worth buying?

Just as another opinion on this.

Perfect? No. I really enjoyed it though, many "Wow" moments. I'd find myself playing with my mouth agape for minutes on end.

I felt £35 was justified for me, on PS4, before any of the updates.

You would pay 19p for it right now. You'd probably even pay £1 for it

I think if No Man's Sky was £5 brand new, it would be voted cold due to the sheer amount of people who hate it. Shame really as it is a good game, especially since the Foundation Update.

no no no no no blah blah blah. No Man's Sky has never been an "early access game"! when it was released it was the finished article, then once all the players kicked off that they lied about what u can do they started working on some updates to change things.

now Ark survival evolved is an early access game, I paid £40 for the bundle on PS4, that shows its an early access with its rough edges etc and snags, server issues etc. it's plastered all over it that's it's early access.

No Man's sky can be fun if u do ur research and now what to expect with it.

In all honesty, I'll bite when it's on ps plus.
Shame.

That's your opinion though doesn't mean it's not worth £20 I certainly wouldn't pay more than that though solely because of the promised content that doesn't exist like meeting other players etc

I'm actually basing my experince on what happened to me, which was I played the game for a few hours expecting something to unfold, nothing ever does, there is no (though now very little with the latest update) sustenance to the game, it's a poor sandbox if that is the finished article, it is obviously designed for more things to actually happen on the planets it exists on, the level design is great but it has zero content to the game aside form the upgrade system (and now there is some base building with the update)
I am calling it early access because it feels like a hollow shell of an unfinished game, what is there works fine and I believe relatively bug free (it wasnt perfect on release only tiny bugs honestly but about average for any game) but there are many early access games that are relatively bug free (I wouldnt say any game is ever bug free you can always find a glitch if you play long enough).

To reiterate I am calling it early access because of the original presentation of the game to me was advertised as having some content to the game other than looking around and seeing how pretty the world is, which is great but then it's just a sandbox, thats not the game they are promising though. I later found out about all the features they had promised before release without specifying it wont be available on release.

To summaries my experience, I bought the game expecting a decent amount of content from what was described on the case/psn store, played it for a few hours and got to a point of: "wait so this is the whole game, nothing is actually going to happen I am just looking around these planets and I can get better stuff to upgrade to look around planets more? thats the whole game?" at that stage I was disappointed with the game, I then heard about other peoples disappointment, all of the content that was promised would be in the game.

If the game isn't finished with all of the content they promised, they are either lying about the content being there i.e. "one man's lie" or we are playing the game before it is finished or accessing it early if you prefer, like the many titles on a platform like steam for example that are categorized as "early access" because they are still in development, there are more thing being added and they are honest about the full game content not being there.

NMS has been described to have content numerous times which is not there on the release of the game, it is not additional content, it has always been designed to be part of the game from the descriptions before and after the release. The game was released earlier than all of the content was added to it.
