I know this game gets alot of bad press BUT it's one of the cheapest I've seen it. I've heard they've made improvements to the game since release also.

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Embark on an epic voyage
At the centre of the galaxy lies a irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey
The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

It's £10.99 too expensive.

i kind of want to play it because of the bad things i've heard about this game. I bought deadly premonition for the same reason lol although some people genuinely loved that game (i still haven't played much but the voice acting is AMAZING, in a 'Tommy Wiseau - The Room' kind of way.
I think you'll get much more than 11 quid's worth playing it in its current state. My son and I have put at least 20 hours in. It's one of those "chill out and explore" games.

if you go in with expectations as low as the floor, like expecting a space themed sandbox with next to nothing to do then you'd probably be happy with what you get, if you expect anything the game actually advertised you will feel cheated.
If this game was launced at £10.99 and marketed as indie it would be up for game of the year plaudits.

It's a great little sandbox exploration game with harvesting elements similar to Minecraft. It has minor combat, minor trading, minor space sim stuff but really it's about having your own goals, exploration and upgrading.

My recommended way of playing is sat infront of a big telly with a controller - even on PC.

So what are you basing your opinion on? Just out of interest
Was waiting for this range of price to try. Don't think next week's Steam Sales are gonna give a better price. Bought + Heat, thanks!
A hot No Man's Sky thread?

It must be everyone getting into the festive spirit

people will buy steaming turd if it was 20 quid and then 5 quid, look at apple they sell loads every year!
Well Apple don't make turds, but this is a really bad game.
This is still too much!
I paid retail on release and was annoyed but still put 100 hours into it. Since the updates I've put another 150 hours into it. Its addictive, the mods and high res packs look great in 4K.

The game might not be everyones cup of tea but I paid £39.99 and definitely got my moneys worth.
Supposed to be good. Tempted.

On the same reason than any other games. Don't fool the players by selling something else than what was advertised.

I like it, found a beautiful planet and I enjoy cruizing over the hills & mountains (and driving over the occasional animal) while searching for certain minerals
this game cost maximum 1 p

This is not a really bad game. I was an early backer and I more than got my money's worth out of the original build, I put maybe 150 hours in and enjoyed it. It's a chilled out, sit back and play game. My wife would sit and watch because it's nice to look at.

Whatever you are basing your opinion on is biased. The only reason it gets negative reviews is because it didn't launch with everything it promised which was a huge ask of any game developer, nevermind the small one that created this.
Gets a good write up in the latest PC Gamer - may not have launched well but progressed since.
This game still desperately needs a vr patch/mod/full conversion!
