.. Oh no - Doing my usual Wednesday check to see what the new Zero Punctuation review is and its this game ( escapistmagazine.com/art…oes ) ... Those not familiar with the ZP reviews - its a comical video review slagging off the latest and greatest games. Recommended, but be warned they contain nasty, naughty words and adult humor (you have been warned !!!)
Dont know if i dare watch it LOL ... Still NMH got very glowing reviews everywhere else though.

Im hoping so - ill find out tommorow - although it might be £29.99 instore as part of the 'deal of the week'. Otherwise get PCWorld/Currys to price match GAMEs online price and get a further £1.50 off. There seems to be plenty in stock at Currys/Pcworld for a change.

zero punctuation is brilliant, he said he recommended this.

wasnt a fan of killer 7 but i want to get this.

It's super wierd, collecting coconuts and mowing lawns in between slicing people into thirds.

Pal version was ponced down as well compared to US blood & guts version. Although you can actually turn the blood back on using Trucha Signer (modded Wii only) :-)

looks like a cracking game but i wont be buying or playing it until an uncensored version is released or when i can find a relable way to play US games on my UK Wii.

im gonna excahnge all my ds games tomorrow now since i need the money and theyre all backed up on ym r4. would one suggest i wait for mario kart or buy a copy of this? anyway if its pegi rated 16 why no blood n guts. that was one of the best things about killer 7!

Not worth it, better to get the american version with freeloader, i did and dont regret the american version one bit.

gonna give it a try... great price though for a game that has got such good reviews.

Nothing wrong with the PAL version children, Blood doesn't make a good game.

... Until the Wii gets an update which renders the Freeloader and any imports into worthless coasters. Its strange though, i felt the same about the US version having blood. But having checked out the various video reviews again today (all from US based sites showing the blood) Ive got to say i think it just gets in the way and spoils the overall look and flow of the game. The 'censored' UK version seems in hindsight more stylist, classy and less obtrusive but thats just my own personal opinion. BTW the UK version isnt censored - we have the same original version as the Asians and as the creator intended. The gore in the US version was ADDED to the game, probably because they figured it was the only way it would sell over there.

Unless they added that too, watching the videos i think the US version has swearing in it.

There you go then man2392, thats the reason for the PEGI 16 rating. Thanks, hamsterpig ;-)

I am sure that I read somewhere that the Jap and Euro versions are the original versions ie the game wasn't meant to have blood it it - the US one actually had the blood added to it.

nintendowiifanboy.com/sea…it=

It's slightly cheaper at Amazon, but as it's about £5 more everywhere else I voted it hot.

Yep thats true (hence my reply above LOL) ... I think i first heard that fact in a reply to one of the reader letters on C4 Gaming teletext pages.
EDIT: Its is actually abit more vague according to Wikipedia :

Suda has cited the film El Topo among the inspirations for No More Heroes. In one interview he went so far as to say he would try to make it "as violent, or even more violent than Manhunt 2," a game that received an AO rating from the ESRB in its original form. A trailer shown at the March 2007 Game Developers Conference featured Travis Touchdown using the beam katana to decapitate or cut enemies in half, with copious amounts of blood being spilled. Later videos featured clouds of black pixels and objects resembling coins spurting from enemies instead of blood. it was later explained that the "black clouds" version would be released in Japan, while the United States and Europe would receive the game with the previously seen blood. Later, however, Suda51 decided to release the bloodless version in Europe as well. In the American version, the enemies are generally decapitated or split in half with large quantities of blood gushing from them. Overall, the two versions feature common enemies eventually burning away and a fountain of coins, with or without the inclusion of blood.

You werent kidding a whole 1p cheaper LOL ... Oh well, Amazons delivery time is pretty shocking anyway - especially their super saver service. Has anyone found out if its £24.99 instore yet?

Just traded in my copy of Eledees - confirmed that NMH is £24.99 instore. Why are you wasting time reading this reply - go and get this game!!

LOL ... wish i could but nearest town is 26 miles away. So instead Ive given my wife instructions to pick one up after work ... Just hope nobody reading this beats me to the last copy (wouldnt be the first time)

Dude... free delivery online... Just in case there are "No More Copies" (geddit?!)

... Ive got a £20 GAME voucher card burning a hole though (which i cant use online). My wife has just phoned to say shes picked one for me now anyway and yep its £24.99 instore, thanks. On a bum note Ive also got a £28 GAME voucher card which i was going to use to preorder Mario Kart. But they wont because they dont even have enough copies in for those that have already preordered (why advertise they are still taking preorders though ?!?!?). Guess itll be a run around the supermarkets tomorrow. This is gonna eclipse the Mario Oylmpics fiasco.

I might pick this up, just a question though how much credit do game normally give you for trading in a wii game, I'm thinking about trading in tomb raider anniversary, not sure how much they'd give me for it though.

Ordered, thanks to the OP.

£24.99 in store? kinsgton has 3 games and there were ALL charging £39.99! I had to go to pc world to price match it becuase currys refused and even then i didn't get my extra 10 percent off :(!

Game gave me £8 for Eledees, which originally cost me £20. I was hoping for at least £10, but wanted NMH, and was willing to sacrifice the couple of quid. I asked at Blockbusters, and they said £4 cash or £8 added to my account - go figure!

NMH is definitely selling for £25 in GAME. I would certainly have gone to PCW, but needed to get rid of Eledees. Shame about the 10% - what reason was given?

lol, this dense blonde chav served me at the counter and asked the massive bald 6"4 security guard if they gave an extra 10 percent to price matching; he said no. i wasn't willing to argue. just shows how britains main gaming supplier cannot control their stores. Meanwhile currys' excuse was we claim online retailers for amazon and ebuyer only. but anyway ive discovered a way to get rid of 2 of my ds games tomorrow; i shall sell them at game and a mate will buy the credit off me!

I price match on about a weekly basis - everytime i have to argue and involve the manager. Last week as always they didnt reserve mine instore, despite me reserving it online 3 hours earlier. So i had to get them to get one out back. Then i brought out my Amazon printout for the price match and the guy said 'Sorry we dont price match if you resevred item online' (despite it been the same price as instore BTW) ... Well, unusally for me i just lost it and started swearing at him at which point he said he would price match but only at his own discresion. Other stories involve them refusing to price match Zavvi even though Virgin megastores is one of the online vendors listed that they will price match (for those that dont know Zavvi bought out Virgin Megastores and therefore IS Virgin megastores). It really is ridiculous they always deny price matching despite the terms even been on display on the counter, then you ALWAYS have to fight for the 10% difference. Its not as if its a new policy, its all to do with losing commision sales.

Always worth taking you own copy in to wave under their arrogant noses :

... Erm, ok then you win - at least as far as the cut scenes are concerned anyway Seriously though - Ive got the game still sealed sitting on the desk in front of me ... I could get the import/freeloader for £40ish. But then im still concerned about Nintendo rendering Freeloader inoperable in a future firmware update.
Also taken from a Amazon customer review "Don't be put off by other reviews that berate the UK version (which is the same as the Japanese original) just because it lacks the blood of the US version, this doesn't affect the overall quality of what is a superb game. In fact many reviews, and Suda 51, prefer the bloodless version as it improves the games pace and doesn't distract from the games overall look." ... What to do ?!?!?

Is it me, or does charging up your beam katana feel a little... naughty?

Good game so far, only just started, and beat the first assassin. Going to try and finish it this weekend before MK gets delivered from Amazon.

Yeah - and i a reckon its completely intentional :-D

sorry for the late reply peeps, been busy with c/w, anyways as there was a discussion with the US and PAL version, yes i know the JAP and PAL are the same. But as i was saying wuldnt u prefer the blood version? yes i know its only the blood thats been taken out, but with sliceing a head off then see the body turn into black particles and disappear, seems a bit under par doesnt it? this is my opinion and comment, not an insult or argument, and yes i do have killer 7 which i still own love it to bits.

and yes solid chargeing the katana is quite ummm well i dont know, at first i felt ummm what the hell am i doing jerking my wii remote up and down lol.

I have a brand new no more heroes for sale on the for sale thread for £24.50 purchased by my mother in law yesterday from Zavvi
