No.1 Airport Lounge Access at up to 45% discounted rate - Caxton FX (Requires initial £10 credit)

Hi - first ever deal submission so go easy and I hope this helps others.

So we go only holiday abroad a few times a year and like to enjoy the airport lounges when we can having a couple of kids in tow, security lane express passes are also becoming our new best friend!

We have gained access to these lounges in the past through credit card offers, or packaged bank accounts etc. Most of these either have an annual fee that kicks in after an initial offer period, or a monthly charge.

The Caxton FX card offers you the ability to book No.1 Lounges (not checked if it applies to any others) at discounted rates of up to 45% consistently. The discount rates do vary on location but we mainly fly from Birmingham. Note the discount rates need to be booked through the Caxton website on the following link no1lounges.com/cax…nfx and apply when you advance book your stay. They also offer complimentary premium security + access usually worth about £5 per person (apart from Heathrow).

If you do have kids yourself the discount rate does not apply to their bookings which are reduced from an adult price already.

In order to get the card you need to apply for an account, preload it with £10 and then they send you out your card. I spoke with them this morning and there is no annual charge for the card or dormancy fees if the card has no credit or is not used for long periods. Who knows if they will change this in future.

To apply:

- Go to the above link
- Click on 'Get your card'
- Complete form.

If you want to learn more for yourself about the lounge access click in the link in the text above or on the main site, click on currency cards and then extras and promotions.

Once the card is in hand theoretically you will be able to use this year on year to get discounted booking to the lounge without needing a packaged bank account or offer from a CC company.

I have yet to receive my card having applied today (which also required providing bank statement and drivers licence to verify identity) and according to the adviser, payment can be taken for the lounges from a credit card of my choosing and not CaxtonFx card.
We will be going away again in the next couple of months so proof will be in the testing. If anyone has success before then - feel free to share.

Sounds like a drug smuggling operation
Guilty as charged!! Parents live in Spain. Not always a glamour fixture excursion...
It might be easier/cheaper to buy a discounted dragonpass certificate for £17 here:

aonecert.dragonpassuk.com/

You can get access to many lounges (subject to availability - but so is this deal) and no need to get the Caxton FX card.

That also looks good. Do you know if you get the fast lane security pass as part of that price or are they extra?

No you wouldn't get that, but you might be able to pay extra for it on the No1 lounge website (https://no1lounges.com/reservations) - it seems that you can do this selecting that you have DragonPass, but as this is a certificate, not an actual membership card, I would perhaps check with No1 if it's ok to do this.
The cheapest I found was at no1lounges.com/GourmetSociety
You don't need a gourmet card either.
Much cheaper and better than others because you book direct. If you have a dragonpass/prioritypass and they are full, you might get turned away.

Just applied for Caxton card, thank you. Paid for fast lane security with Ryanair but the queue was so long I was advised to stay in the ordinary lane.

It states on the small print that you need to show GourmetSociety card otherwise you have to pay the difference?

T2 or 4 or 5?

T3 also still exists.

if you come out of the LT station exit barriers and go slightly left, or right if you came from the platform by lift rather than escalator, you will see a mesh fence with beyond it the travolators still in situ, and even illuminated signs directing to ‘Terminal 1’ ... this is despite T1 closing 3 years ago!!

Good stuff! My card should arrive today or tomorrow. Let’s see how we get on but if we are able to consistently get the discounted rate and the security lane pass I will be well chuffed. I’d like to say I’m surprised by your Ryanair experience but sadly....

How about loungekey? I heard they do £15 per airport lounge entry. or

alternatively if one has HSBC Premier World Elite Card there seems to be unlimited airport lounge access + Access to over 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide with Boingo BUT cost £195 per year.

alternatively if one has Santander World Elite Mastercard there seems to be unlimited airport lounge access + Access to over 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide with Boingo BUT cost £15 pcm (£180 per year).

Anyone has any better suggestions for airport lounge access?
