I have never used LXdirect before, What is the service like? Whats with the codes? Its showing 10% discount on my order and £25 off. So what do you mean they don't honour them?

seems to work on anything over £30 .....

It does - but you have to open their account don't you?

If you select credit/debit card i think you have to pay the full amount

It says

"Your total order value is £38.49 - Please fill in the relevant boxes below" at the top of the third page.

WetHungryHippo thats exactly what I am thinking, Never used them before and the price goes back up if I select credit/debit payment option. Can anyone confirm this......

on the payment confirmation page it shows the discounted price. Used a Visa Debit

Stacking of codes isn't advised. Your whole order is likely to be cancelled or they could take the full amount from your account. Just a note so you don't get upset should that happen... They've done it before...

My friend used these codes a few weeks back. Both codes honoured. How ever, I believe they took the full ammount, and refunded him his discounts later (it seems policy). He did not open an account with them. Once you have had order confirmation, if the price is fixed at £4.60 or whatever, they cannot legally change it/take any more than they should, or there'd be a lot of trouble with Trading Stanards!

Ordered mine says it should be delivered by 29th dec hoping for the best!

People like us are going to put these poor b**tards out of business.:p

have just purchaseed a hairdryer for under a fiver babyliss payed by debit card and just waiting confirmation i think they take out the full amount at first and when your purchase is processed and ready for delivery they refund your discount . thankx great discount

Has anybody received this phone at this price (£4.60)

I have received the order confirmation by email.

But when I clicked on the link they provided for tracking the order, the order value appears to be £29.60

But the email order confirmation says :

Total including delivery £4.60

Sounds confusing....Any thoughts what can be done???

Any past experience??

To add to this, if you do, then take a screen print showing the £4.60 price at the payment/confirmation page.

Regardless of what their T&C says, they can't quote one price at the payment page which is what you authorise them to charge your card, and then charge a completely different price.

I they muck you about, just email them the confirmation page at £4.60 and tell them you'll forward it to trading standards and do a charge back with your credit card. I think you'll find they back down quite quickly.

There is one post on MSE saying...

Lxdirect people called all those who placed similar orders and cancelled those..

Any such experience for HUKDers?

Did you receive this order?

Or did you get call from LXdirect for cancelling this order?? :santa:

nope nothing yet

I ordered one a few day ago.
This morning I received a call from LXdirect for cancelling this order..:(

i placed an order and then decided to cancel it. It says in the T&C that:

"Where you have redeemed a promotional code or any other offer against your order, acceptance of this order is subject to our verifying that the code has been issued to you personally, that you comply with all the terms of the offer and qualify for the code. In the event that the code has not been issued to you for your personal use or you do not comply with or qualify for the offer, we shall have the right to reclaim the value of any discount from you and the price of the order will be adjusted notwithstanding the provisions of clause 2 above"

what this means to me is that - if you they later check that you have used this code and they did not send it to you, they will charge you the extra amount. When i spoke to customer services - she gave me the impression that if the code validates ok when you place the order - then it was fine. It could be me just getting the wrong end of the stick.

No call yet from Lxdirect...

Hoping to see the parcel :-)

I checked my online Bank account and Littlewoods have debited the full £29.60. I rang them up, and was advised that the £25 discount is being refunded to my account. To debit money from my account takes 2 days but to refund takes 5 days!

As I work in a bank, I pointed out that I only authorised the £4.60 to be debited and they are in breach of regulations, and, should they cause someone to go overdrawn in their account, they would be liable for charges.

At which point I was told "thank you for bringing it to our attention, we will add a note to our confirmation email, detailing the fact that we take the full amount and refund £25 on same day but refunds take longer to appear in your account.

phone delivered this morning, checked my account and full amount was debited with £25 refunded so all good

recieved today but they took 26.10.

rang lx they said the 25 % code was not for me.
pointed out the invoice only showed 4.60 for card and said i will contact trading standards, thy said go ahead.

copy of email:-

Good morning I wonder if you can help?

1. I shopped online for a phone @ LX direct using a couple of discount codes.

2. At checkout the total including delivery was £4.60 which I paid with my card.

3. I received the phone today but invoiced £26.10. LX Direct did not have my authority to charge this amount to my card, also they did not contact me.

4. I phoned LX direct today who stated that the 25% discount code was not for me? I stated they have took funds out of my account without my knowledge.

5. they also said they will pick up the phone on Friday but will not credit my account until 2 weeks after receiving it back at the warehouse.

Please can you advice,

I have also sent a copy of the confirmation email.

anyone else found this???

Oops, you fell at the first hurdle:

1. I shopped online for a phone @ LX direct using a couple of discount codes.

Were those discount codes specifically issued to you by LX Direct for your use, in accordance with their Terms & Conditions which you accepted when you placed your order?

Ahhh, no then....

"Where you have redeemed a promotional code or any other offer against your order, acceptance of this order is subject to our verifying that the code has been issued to you personally, that you comply with all the terms of the offer and qualify for the code. In the event that the code has not been issued to you for your personal use or you do not comply with or qualify for the offer, we shall have the right to reclaim the value of any discount from you and the price of the order will be adjusted..."

Well after a couple of weeks after ordering I still hadn't received the mobile, so I called them and they said it was lost in transit and gave me a refund.

Instead of £4.50 refund they gave me a whopping £27. Meaning I had just made £22.50
